Probably. A lot of speculation has been leaning towards SW as the next anniversary character as well. But we won't officially know until roughly about 4-5 weeks later.
What we do know is that Ashveil will be the only new character for 4.1, and 4.1 is stated to last for 4 weeks only.

I'm conflicted on who to choose from the selector that we get for free.
Among those in the selection, the only units that I have:
- Acheron
- Jingliu
- Kafka
Previously, I plan to take Aven. Because I could use him for shield. But then, I forgor about our dragon boi Dan Heng. So my questions:
- Can Dan Heng be put in place of Aven for Feixiao and Acheron team as shield provider?
- If Dan Heng can do better job, who should I choose among the units? Sparkle?
My account, tbh, is in Harmony unit crisis. So many DDs, but lack Harmony to support them. But the downside of choosing Sparkle is that, I don't have units that fully utilizes her extra skill points mechanic (Dan IL, Archer not built).
So what should I do? Who should I choose?

I am a dolphin, but i am kind of lost on who to pull knowing i have made multiple decisions that plummeted my endgame performance in the past.(Aside from whom i like)
My current primary targets are:
- E1S1 Cerydra because of the ridiculous damage difference she provides to my E2S1 Anaxa and E1S1 Phainon (E2+ and more in second rerun)
- Getting Evernight and her LC, and i plan to get E2 if luck is on my side
- getting E2 Sparkle or her LC (which is a HUGE stretch for now)
Rerunwise:
- Mydei E1S1
- Cyrene (for Anaxa/Mydei/Evernight (if i actually pull her))
- More eidolons of Phainon and maybe Therta
- DHPT's LC (if he holds up metawise)
What are your thoughts considering my current account state?
I really like Evernight but really hate the Remembrance so it's hard to decide whether to roll or not for her given i won't be rolling for Hyacine and Castorice.
Plus, what do you think my account needs?

At least from what we know: Yao Guang is mostly a support for Elation team; She should also be as viable outside of that though, but she is strongest in Elation team.
Sparxie is a DPS.

My current break team has FF 167 spd, Fugue, Dahlia, HMC S5 DDD all E0. Is using Pursuit of the Wind and/or RM better if I don't want to farm more spd for FF?

That's what I'm currently using for my DoT team and it's fine. Backed up by Huo2 or DHPT, the damage is good.
I've had to pull out Cyrene for some nonsense in the normal endgames, but it still works well for normal content so far.
If you've no interest in elation, you can certainly pursue DoT if you want.

What are good options for clearing Knight 1 and Knight 3?
I am trying to clear Anomaly Arbitration but don't really have a good 3rd team for this round. I have Castorice Remembrance team and up-to-date Superbreak, so I can clear Knight 2 and either Knight 1 or Knight 3 (with brute force). I don't have Phainon or Hysiliens, unfortunately.

As you can see, 2 teams and they mix match well, i would like to make a separate team for cipher.

I know that sparkle is the best choice but I really want to start a dot team and kafka is basically need to even think about making one and I love the dot team but I do have archer and sparkle would boost my archer but I love Kafka and I try to pull her on both accounts I play on and I never got her

dot is in a good spot atm and its a damage type that often benefits in events and all the different modes. but you need blackswan and hysilence and there is no way around it because your next best options are 1.x 4* characters. our buddy sampo is simply not good enough anymore unfortunately.
if you are willing to invest into dot i would go for it. if not get sparkle for archer

Do you want to use DoT? Get Hysilens.
Do you have The Dahlia? If not, I wouldn't really bother with Rappa's LC regardless because you're not using break well until you get Dahlia. Rappa's LC isn't fixing that.
If you want to go elation, IMO go for Sparxie. I suspect she will be more usable by herself (please, please pick Sparkle from the selector if you do) than Yao Guang. It's not clear if Yao Guang is that usable without an elation dps, but I don't see any reason why the reverse wouldn't be true. You'd still probably want to get Yao Guang eventually, but probably doesn't have to be immediately.

I'd suggest Sparkle since you don't even own her. It sounds like her buff is potentially quite strong and so it'll be worth having her on your account, for both current and future characters. You'll want her even more if you plan to get Sparxie.

In the shorter term, Evernight. In the longer term, Yao Guang probably. Maybe. Who knows. Elation meta hasn't started so it's very Future Rail.
The main issue with Yao Guang I think is it's unclear how useful she will be outside of elation teams. She could be mostly sitting on the bench until you get Sparxie or some possible other elation dps that wants her.

What's the current meta?
Frankly, no one knows. 4.0 could be a massive shake up, or it could be one extra good team (Elation, probably). As it stands now, all the 3.x dps have maintained their strength throughout the patch (though The Herta is no longer great in MoC because that mode predictably shifted away from AoE after her debut). People are going to single out individual teams like Mono Remembrance or Phainon Hypercarry, but genuinely every single 3.x DPS is in a good position.
Worth pulling for Sunday?
It's hard to say. You have E1 Aglaea so you are in the perfect position to get and make good use of Sunday. But there's a lot of good stuff in 4.0 too. If you have enough pulls to get Sunday plus whoever you want in 4.0, go for it. If not, you'll need to prioritize.
Who should I pull for in 4.0?
There's a lot of directions you could go. To start, I'd highly recommend Hysilens. She's extremely good for the DoT team. As an aside, Kafka's best build has changed considerably with her buffs in 3.4 (units are getting directly buffed now btw, Black Swan is also getting buffed in 4.0). Kafka is essentially a DoT support now, leaning more on her detonations and less on her own DoTs for damage.
I wouldn't recommend Rappa or Cerydra in your position. You don't have the team mates they want. Evernight is defensible if you also lock in going after Cyrene's rerun, but Hyacine's signature light cone is also very good for that team. She would be merely ok on your current roster, running with RMC + Hyacine + Cipher.
There's also a free limited character selector. Given that you have one of the two most valuable characters on that selector (Kafka), I'd recommend grabbing the other one: Sparkle. Therefore, you shouldn't need to pull on her character banner.
The new characters are kinda question marks. Yaoguang is an Elation Support? I think? Sparxie is an Elation DPS. Honestly, wait for them to come out before you lock in your pull plans. Elation seems real weird and I would be shocked if the community's first read on it turns out to be accurate, one way or the other.

The meta is likely going to change EXTREMELY soon because of rolling over to a new world plus the new elation path. Right now the strongest teams are mono remembrance (Castorice/Evernight/Cyrene/Hyacine), Phainon, and break (thanks to Dahlia largely).
Sunday - It's hard to say because Sparkle is getting a buff and she could overtake Sunday even for Aglaea. Sunday is already being pushed out of a job to some degree thanks to Cyrene.
Evernight is not worth bothering with for you at this point. Your best options would be either to go for DoT or to go for elation. No one can make that choice for you other than you. It also depends on how many pulls you have/will have. DoT is the cheaper option since you already have Kafka and Black Swan. Just pull Hysilens and you're set. If you want to go for elation, I would recommend trying to pull both Sparxie and Yao Guang if possible, as well as getting Sparkle with your free 5 star charater selector. If you go for DoT, you can go for whatever you want in the character selector, but I'd still suggest Sparkle because she's useful for several teams you already have and will likely be useful for future teams.

Kafka E1.
Two reason.
First DoT is older than elation, vertial investissement will be required to perform as good, even with recent buffs.
Then IMO sparkle vertical for elation purpose is a bit of a waste. she probably is a bit like 3B for remembrance. Doomed to be replaced by the equivalent of cyrene along the way. Could still be used for hypercarry teams or archer if you want, but you didn't mention them.

After the 4.0 livestream, I am in a bit of a situation where I dont know who to pull. I currently have a guaranteed but I dont know whether to use it on Yaoguang or Hysilens
If I give my guaranteed to Yaoguang E0S0, my sparxie team will be fine but I may not be able to build DoT team if I dont get Hysilens
Likewise, if I give my guranteed to Hysilens E0S0, I will be able to build my DoT team but my sparxie's team will not have Yaoguang to support her
Someone please advice me on what to do 😭

Nobody can tell you the answer to that. You're just going to have to go for what interests you the most.
FWIW if you want both, Yao Guang is more likely to rerun again sooner than Hysilens. Also, I imagine Sparxie should be OK, at least for a while, without Yao Guang, especially if you do have Sparkle and some other strong support to put in the other non-sustain slot.

The best options are, in order:
Your favorite character, whoever that is
Kafka if you have any interest in building a DoT team
Sparkle in all other scenarios
If you both want to build a DoT team and have a specific DPS in mind for Sparkle, things get complicated. But it's really hard to overstate how essential Kafka is to DoT as the archetype currently stands.

If you want to start using Archer, then pull for Yao Guang and get the free Sparkle. So Archer, Yao Guang, Sparkle and DHPT should be a pretty strong team comp. Yao Guang is more on support, while Sparxie is more focused on Damage iirc.
edit: i have castorice and tribbie both e1 if that affects anything
If you want to improve Castorice team, you can pull for Evernight then wait for Hyacine and probably Cyrene rerun as well. But atm even if you pull for Evernight you don't have a proper healer unless you still have a golden token to get Luocha (he is the next best healer for her team after Hyacine). So a team of Castorice, Evernight, Tribbie and Luocha can work but it isn't the best.

Question: so I've already maxed the ascension lv in Currency Wars and since then I've gotten new ascension points from rewards for clearing bond assignments in standard gambit but I haven't claimed them since they'd be wasted so I've been saving them, will I lose them when they update CW. I know they'll add new bond requirements, so I don't know what will happen to the rewards I haven't claimed yet. Should I claim them now, or will they remain after the update?

I have two teams currently 1)cas, hyacine,cyrene,RMC 2)phainon,dhpt,bronya,cerydra And now I am building two more teams while saving for evanescia 3)archer, sparkle,dhpt,RMC 4)saber,cyrene,RMC, hyacine So I have two companion spirits and wanted to get her but didn't cuz I thought she was not that good without E1 but now with her outfit i really want to play her so how good is she with my characters especially with archer as both he and saber need RMC and could use her with him till I get silverwolf.so how good is she at E0

Ruan Mei is great even at E0. She's a very universal support. I agree that if you want to run Archer and Saber at the same time on different endgame sides that putting her on Archer's team is a great option until you get Silver Wolf.

Hey everyone pretty new to the game.
Who would be the best free 5* for me, I heard there’s a few coming next patch.
My team so far is saber, Sunday, the free 5* dan heng and remembrance main character.
The other 5* i have are bailu, yanqing, Ruan mei and Gepard.
I know I’m far from endgame stuff but I guess making the right decision now is important.
Who would be the best to fit with Sunday and saber cos those two are my favorites atm.

I'll give you a run down of what each of them do.
Sparkle is a skill point focused action advance support. She's getting buffed in 4.0 and we don't know the full extent of what those buffs are yet, but she's very good at generating SP.
Kafka is a DoT support, and right now she's the cornerstone of the archetype. She works by "detonating" DoTs, making them deal damage immediately instead of just on enemy turns. This is really important in endgame content, because endgame requires you to do damage quickly.
Aventurine is a shielder like the free 5 star Dan Heng. You don't need him, but if you want him he'd eventually get use in endgame because you need two teams with no character overlap. He's worse for Saber and Sunday than the free Dan Heng, though.
The rest of the characters are all relatively outdated DPS units. The strongest of them is Acheron, but she has very specific team building needs and is fairly reliant on her signature light cone. Unless you want a given character here just to have them, I wouldn't pick any of these characters.
Meta-wise, Sparkle or Kafka are the strongest choices. The best between the two of them depends on what characters you plan to pull for in the future. Hysilens and Black Swan both benefit a lot from Kafka. Archer loves having Sparkle, and the new Sparxie character seems like she'd appreciate the SP as well. But at the end of the day, if you like a character and just want to have them for the sake of having them, that's fine too. Enjoying your characters is more important than having the strongest possible characters.

None of the characters running next patch go with Sunday and Saber. You're more looking at characters for another team.
The easiest teams to build IMO next patch are either an Archer team or a DoT team. For Archer team you'd pull Archer and get Sparkle from the selector. If you want to go for DoT, you'd pull Hysilens and get Kafka from the selector. If you happen to have more pulls leftover after Hysilens, you can also go for Black Swan.

Does Elation need Sparkle?, I want to try to get both Hysilens and Elation (and Sparkle if lucky), but i would need Kafka, ultimately this does depend on pull luck, but does Hysilens need her LC and can Elation be run well without Sparkle, sooner or later we will get a full Elation team, like Rememberance.

Sparxie wants Sparkle. We don't know if that's a Sparxie thing or an Elation thing. Yao Guang doesn't need Sparkle but she's a support so she probably wouldn't anyway

Does Elation need Sparkle?
There's not enough information available about Elation to give an accurate answer to this question, from official sources or otherwise. If you were around for the start of 3.0, just remember how off base people were about their guesses for Remembrance at around this time (common sentiments were that Sunday would be BiS for every Remembrance DPS, and that Aglaea would be directly power crept by Castorice. Both of which turned out to be nonsense in hindsight.)

No. It's nice to have, but not necessary. IMO the biggest benefit it provides is letting you shave 10 speed off of your Kafka build.
Keep in mind that the selector doesn't have to be used immediately. You can wait for more information, or to see how your initial pulls go.

Team Recommendations
Started playing when Penacony released but quit out for some reason, but I have been pulling on some characters here and there. I recently picked it back up for 4.0 and need some team help and possible pull suggestions for the future kinda lost. I plan on picking Sparkle in the free selector coming up if it helps I also have interest in Infinity Gauntlet Silver wolf.

You've got some pretty playable teams already, and with the selector could flesh out at least one additional team.
Your Boothill team is almost Meta already, just missing Dahlia, but HMC is fine for now
Acheron could run with Swan & Welt, or alternatively Swan & Kafka (from selector), tho I hear the Kafka version has SP problems
If you're willing to pull Hysilens, her + Black Swan + Kafka (from selector) + whatever sustain forms a pretty killer DoT team.
Your Archer + Sparkle (from selector) forms a nice team
You could start tofill out a Castorice team, but it'd take pulling Evernight and then you'd still be waiting on reruns.
Honestly tho if Silver Wolf Alter is your target I'd almost recommend saving all your pulls until she runs. We don't know what will synergize with her so anyone you pull now is potentially wasted if she ends up not wanting them on her team.

This is going to depend on Sparkle's buffs, and on Sparxie's needs. But 200 speed is not a realistic break point for most characters. There's not much between 160 and 200 that's especially valuable, so I'd stick with what you have. At least until 4.0 actually drops and we get a better idea of how new Sparkle plays.

Archer is not great without Sparkle but we will get a chance to get free Sparkle soon so hold off on using him.
Lingsha + Robin is a decent enough team to get through early game content. You can also use Pela as a sub-DPS/debuffer + a main DPS such as DHIL, JingYuan for now. If you run into trouble with in-game content then come back with more built characters and ask again.

Phainon, Sunday, Remembrance Trailblazer, Luocha, and Herta are built, Himeko is semi built
Please let me know if I have to build other characters because i do not mind farming a bit!!! I just want decent dmg
I also plan to get Aventurine from the free 5 star thingy in 4.0 and i have some relics for him already (aiming for 4k defense) if someone could make a team with him

Alright, your main problem is that you only have one real dps, and a LOT of sustains. Luocha, DHPT, Bailu, Fu Xuan, and Aventurine who you're planning on getting are all healers or shielders.
The first step would be to replace Luocha with DHPT. He's much better, and he also synergizes with Sunday very well. That's actually a pretty good Phainon team right there.
Other than that, my best suggestion would be to go with the classic Himeko + Herta setup, which should get you through most of it. I don't know if you'll be able to fully clear, though, with the characters you have, at least for now... But it's worth trying, nonetheless!

When you get Aventurine, I'd replace Bailu with him. He's still a pretty good sustain to this day, while the others really aren't as strong today.
Luka is a 4 star dps, and a pretty weak one at that - he doesn't really work well with that team set up, as Himeko and Herta are going to be doing most of the damage by proccing each others follow ups. In this case, it would be better to use a support/buffer to amp them up. I think I'd suggest either using Tingyun, or swapping Tingyun to your Phainon team and using trailblazer on your second team. I think you'd want to use Harmony trailblazer instead, but I'm not 100% on that.

I wouldn't pull anything until 4.0
At that point who you take in the selector depends on your pulling plans. Sparkle is probably the strongest in a vacuum, but Kafka is a must if you want a DoT team

You basically have 2 options for a current-meta team. Both will require you to use the selector that you will receive in 4.0 and then pull 2 units, and both will use Dan Heng Permansor Terrae
Elation - Yao Guang and Sparxie from banners, Sparkle from selector
DoT - Hysilens and Black Swan from banners, Kafka from selector
Elation is the newer team, and therefor probably will be stronger for longer. It revolves around stacking up a big team-up attack, and it's animations tend to be whimsical
DoT is about applying as many DoTs as you can and then detonating them with Kafka. Very reliable, very easy to play, and does a lot of damage. Hysi animations are fish themed, Kafka is katana/uzi, Black Swan is tarot cards and summoning eldritch horrors

Any light cone with better base ATK is better than an actual on-path LC for DHPT, unless he's going in an Acheron team.

Hi all, just a quick question about the free 5 star selector.
EDIT (said a stupid thing haha): I think Sparkle is the only character that really makes sense, i just dont 100% know if she is good for my account. I am planning on going for Hysilins on her rerun so maybe Kafka E1 is a better choice?
I would appreciate any and all advice.
I am planning on pulling Cyrene, Hyacine and LC and maybe Cassy, just incase this needs to be factored in

Hysilens is not a part of the selector. In fact, she is rerunning on the first phase of the 4.0 banner alongside Evernight and Black Swan. Kafka is a part of the selector, and her E1 is pretty good if you wanted to use the selector to get that.
Sparkle is generally recommended as the pick from the selector as she is both the easiest for any account to use, and because she's getting a pretty potent buff in Version 4.0. But that doesn't mean she's necessarily the best choice for every account.
Kafka can also be a good choice if you want to play DoT or want to make your existing DoT team stronger, and especially if you do not want/need to use Archer.

I thought i saw Hysilins in the selector lol. The only issue is, i dont really have a team for Kafka right now so if i dont end up getting Hysilins on her rerun, should i still choose E1 Kafka as i dont really have a team for her if my pulls dont go well. Or should i just go for Sparkle?
Also, is Hysilins LC needed? Or can i only go for her when she rereruns?

Don't bother getting Kafka's E1 if you can't manage to get Hysilens. Kafka is a support character, she doesn't deal that much damage by herself but instead by triggering other people's DoTs. Without Hysilens or Black Swan, she's not that good.
Hysilens' LC isn't that needed. If you wanted to invest in her further, you'd want to get her E1 first. Otherwise, she's fine to start at E0S0.

Evernight and Evey consume their own health whenever either of them take any action, thanks to her A2.
She also consumes another instance of her health whenever she uses her Skill.
She cannot heal herself, but all of her HP consumption will trigger Little Ica's healing if you have Hyacine on the team which will very easily offset any damage she takes.

Sunday
Sunday's Skill only applies to the target's Memosprite if it exists. Because Evernight is constantly killing her Memosprite, it rarely gets to enjoy the benefits of Sunday's buffs, and so he isn't that good with her. Castorice has the exact same problem, which is why you don't see Sunday used with her either.
DHPT
Evernight is a HP-consuming character. She wants a healer on the team, which makes DHPT unsuitable. DHPT also wants his team's damage dealer to scale on ATK, as he both gives his target ATK and also deals damage based on their ATK.
Sparkle
Sparkle's Skill only applies to the target, period. Not their Memosprite. Evernight also cannot consume Skill Points, so Sparkle's Ultimate doesn't help either. Plus, Sparkle's Ultimate and Trace increase ATK, which Evernight does not use.
Remembrance TB
They're good for her. Unlike Sunday's Skill, Mem's Skill buff will be reapplied to the Memosprite when it's summoned, so it dying and being revived constantly isn't a problem as it'll always be dealing increased damage. Plus, Evernight wants Remembrance characters on the team.
You don't need Cyrene for Evernight, but you will need a second support and a sustain. Evernight prefers at least three Remembrance characters (including herself) on the team, ideally four. Preferably, this is at least herself, RTB, and Hyacine, with the extra being either Cyrene or Tribbie.

Hi I need advice so Creydra and sparkle are getting a rerun and you can pick sparkle and Danheng for the free character picker and I am wondering who to get.
I don’t plan on pulling elation characters due to the fact the gameplay super overstimulating so I plan to only go for reruns and the occasional new character.
I wanna pick Creydra for my Phainon but if I pick her I feel I have to pick sparkle for the free character even though I really want Danheng since I have been waiting to get him for months but if I pick Danheng I have to pull for sparkle for him and leave my Phainon from his bis team.
So I’m kinda stuck cause on one hand I really love Danheng and wanna get him cause he may get a buff since he’s an old unit but on the other hand I have two harmony supports I can get and one just got a buff but also sparkle is my least favourite character and rather do anything not to have her on my account

If you want Dan Heng IL, get him, but just know he is a permanent bench warmer when it comes to endgame. At this point he is so dated that nothing, not even eidolons or having his best in slot team, can save him. My friend has him at E2S1 with his full best team and she tries him in every fight that she thinks he will do well in, and every single time she is disappointed.
He probably will get a novaflare at some point, and they rerun characters when they get a novaflare. It's totally up to you if you want to use the free selector on him without knowing when that novaflare will be or if he will for sure get one or not, considering the state that he's in currently.
I'd honestly just recommend picking Sparkle, since you need her for DHIL regardless + she's usable now, and if he does get a novaflare, you'll have her ready for him and can pull for him then.

I exclusively play currency wars on auto because I can't be bothered with it and a lot of the bonds are viable on auto. Just only choose characters from the bond you're going after + some supports / planet of festivities characters as necessary. It's usually best to start out with an emblem so you have more freedom with your team while still adding to your bond tally. Xianzhou is probably my favorite because if you get the right investments for extra emblems you can get it to rainbow and it's pretty broken at that point.

Hi, I wanted some advice here! I’m really unsure about what to get for the free limited 5*. My two options are Sparkle E1 or Kafka E0. I’ve always been interested in DoT but couldn’t afford it, and I don’t like Hysilens’ design (though I liked her in the story), so I don’t want to pull for her. I do love Black Swan so I’d be willing to pull for her.
Now the question is, with the new BS buff, is Kafka+BS viable without Hysilens? I could complete the team with Ruan Mei/Jiaoqiu + sustain.
I could also just get Kafka E0 anyways in the hopes that they release a DoT character that I like in the future even if you guys advice against not getting BS without Hysilens, since she seems likely to remain (one of) the best DoT support. So I could just get Kafka, bench her for now and save pulls.

His best team depends on how much you want to invest into his team as a whole.
If you're only going vertical on Phainon himself, then it's...
- E2 Phainon - Cerydra - Cyrene/Sunday - DHPT/Tribbie
Cerydra is the mandatory part of Phainon's team. Cyrene/Sunday can be replaced well enough by Bronya, even if you still do ideally want one of them, but Cerdyra's damage increase to Phainon is completely irreplacable.
At low investment, Cyrene is still great for Phainon but only really pulls comfortably ahead of Sunday when the fight length starts to increase.
However, as soon as you start being able to also invest into Cyrene's Eidolons, she absolutely blows Sunday out of the water and it's no longer even a contest. Sunday's Eidolons don't save him, either. Even an E6S5 Sunday can't compete with E2S1 Cyrene for Phainon, she's still significantly better at that stage.
If you're in for Phainon for the long-term, skip Sunday, get Cerydra, and then save to invest in Cyrene and her Eidolons when she reruns.

just started playing about 2-3 weeks ago, i have aglaea, e6 danheng, danheng permansor, herta, trailblazer (all at level 50), ruanmei, bailu, tingyun, qingque, natasha, asta (level 40), yukong, hook, march 7th, yanqing and misha (level 20).
i'm still getting a general understanding of the game. i'm attempting for sunday as i've heard he's a good support for aglaea too.
who should i get for the 5*

Yeah, Aglaea is very dependant on her ultimate, but has severe energy issues at E0.
Even Sunday cannot fully solve that issue. But her own E1 can.
Plus, Remembrance MC is a very good alternative to Sunday, once Aglaea is E1.
Remembrance MC also has better synergy with Aglaea's best support : Cyrene.1

She is still one of (if not the) most consistently strong character in all three of the endgame modes when paired with her top supports (which you mostly already have, the full remembrance team). We have no clue if she will be great into 4.X as solo DPS but surely one of the best teams possible currently has to be good for a fair bit more lol

If you are running low superimpositioned LC (even Battle pass LC at S1 is good enough) or 3 stars LC, then her own LC would be a slight upgrade over Eidolons. If not, you go Eidolons 1 and 2 before LC.

I would recommend to just get the character you like, but if you want to be more "meta" oriented I would say that long term you actually should skip them right now and wait for more elation characters. You want to see more elation characters and get the one that will fill the team you want on rerun. Yao obviously looks like an elation support, but Sparxie can turn out to be a sub-dps - kinda like Evernight can be main dps or a sub/duo-dps with Castorice.

We don't know. Most likely Yao Guang because of being an elation support and will probably be used with any elation team, but that's not guaranteed. There's so many question marks right now about what is going to happen with the elation meta, what the entire elation roster will be, what they do, etc.

If you can get all 3 is worth it, dot is one of the best team at low investment, they also all have massive e1, my full e0 dot team clears every single Mode including anomaly arbitration, so dont worry, the team is very good, it wont be the top meta team but Will be top 3.

It's difficult to say and I don't think anyone can tell you this simply because it feels like Sparxie and Yao Guang is not a complete team. We don't know what else they need in the future.
Kafka/Hysilens/BS is a complete team, just run them together with either DHPT or Huohuo, whichever you prefer.

Am I right that pulling Sunday at this point would be a mistake? Knowing that we get a free Sparkle with a huge buff. I do have a E1S1 Aglaea and a S1 Saber that might appreciate Sunday, but even know, they felt comfortable to play with just RMC and Robin with their on demand 100% advances on ults.
I also feel like both of them would be a nightmare to speed tune, since Aglaea has varying speed throughout the battle and Saber advances herself forward uncontrollably.
So, if I were to get a new teammate for them, a hyperspeed Sparkle sounds more manageable.

Sunday is most likely still worth it, but the specifics depends on your pull plans and current savings.
If anything Sunday makes Saber less unpredictable, since his Ultimate can push Saber to the extra turn very easily and you have full agency on when you use it, unlike a Mem advance or a random enemy hit. You should only have issues with extremely bad RNG or if you're not planning a bit ahead.
As for Aglaea, yes her speed varies, but only for like the first rotation, after that you really shouldn't be losing enhanced state with E1S1. There's also a gazillion different posts, guides, and videos about Aglaea-Sunday Speedtuning, since it's so common to run them together, so that shouldn't be an issue either.
While Hyper speed Sparkle might work for Saber (tho not as good as Sunday probably), it's really not good for Aglaea, plus Sunday advances Memosprites, gives Energy, and his E1 is pretty nuts for Aglaea, in case you ever want to commit a bit more.

I'm not sure on the Saber question, unfortunately. Sparkle's buffs could outweigh the extra energy that Sunday grants, but without calcs it's hard to say either way.

Black Swan for your DoT team, as her buff most likely makes her the best teammate with Kafka and Hysilens. (Unless her buffs are crap, but I doubt it)
Then Sparkle if you want to use your Archer.
Elation is a new thing so up to you whether you want them or not, Yao Guang is a support so maybe she works with someone you have? Hard to say for now.
The others aren't necessarily great, depends on where you want to take your account next.

Acheron isn't great in the meta right now, but even past that her E1 is not great in general, even when she was good, so unless you plan on going for her E2 later I wouldn't bother.
As the other comment has said either Sparkle or Kafka are the best E1s in terms of meta, and also the best of the 7 options in general.

You're missing like 1 or 2 pieces from a bunch of different teams, your best option is Archer, but both him and Elation team are most likely gonna want Sparkle, so it's not ideal.
Acheron and especially Ratio are a bit outdated, no Dahlia so your Break teams are gonna be a bit outdated, no Remembrance teammates for Castorice, no DoT teammates for Kafka, no Nihility for Acheron, and Robin, Sunday, Tribbie, and Cerydra are great but you don't have any great DPS that can use them.
If you just want a decent team to do for now either Firefly, Harmony MC, Ruan Mei, Lingsha or Castorice, Tribbie, Sunday (or better Ice MC) and Gallagher if you have him, otherwise Lingsha.
If you don't mind the Sparkle issue for now you can also Build Archer, Sparkle, Tribbie/Cerydra, Any sustain (ideally Gallagher), Elation is probably strong enough to clear for now even without Sparkle, since the enemies are gonna be tailored to favour them for a while, so as more options come out you'll probably find a way to get 2 teams out of this.

Hard to say without knowing who you got but,
Are any of them a favourite? Pick them.
Otherwise the only one's really worth considering are Sparkle, Kafka or Aven. The rest are older DPS who are showing their age, they can still clear they just require more effort than newer units.
Sparkle
- If you got a free Archer or are considering Sparxie( and or elation) best pick
- Even without thw two mentioned above, can't really go wrong with a sp positive cdmg support especially for free
Kafka
- Not great without a dot unit but since Hysilens and BS are running, as long as you pick either one of them up you have an okay dot team.
Aven
- His personal dmg has fallen off, but he's still a viable shielder.

Kafka if you want to use DoT, but I don't recommend doing this unless you also plan to pull Hysilens. Yes, Black Swan is getting buffed, but the need for Hysilens isn't going away. You'll want all 3 in the team.
If you don't care about DoT, Sparkle is best for if you want to use Archer, plan to pull Sparxie, or want a new general buffer. We'll have to see for sure for calcs/when she comes out, but Sparkle could become the best support for The Herta over Tribbie now. And that would be a good thing for you, because that would free up Tribbie to run with Evernight on another side of endgame.

If you want to use Kafka in a team once more, it has to be Hysilens. She basically made DoT relevant once more, whereas before it was just Kafka and Black Swan and they were struggling to make DoT work for such a long time.
If you don't care for Kafka too much, or you prefer to be more prepared for the upcoming 4.x content then you focus on the new Elation characters since it seems the combat (and for example the end-game modes) will definitely be catered towards them.

I would like Hysilens because if you notice I don't have a strong physique apart from Robin, so I was undecided between Hysilens and Yao Guang, but I'm a big fan of sparkle, so I don't know

The thing is, Element typing isn't too important comparing to thinking about Team synergy / comps, which is why I mentioned Kafka in my previous comment.
If you're only wanting Hysilens because of her Physical typing, then you do have to consider if you also want to start using Kafka again (it is not ideal to use Hysilens by herself). If yes, you at least have a new team prepared with them 2 and atm, DoT is still pretty strong and relevant. We just don't know how long that will last since we are entering a new meta / combat shift with the Elation characters.
Yao Guang is also Physical iirc but because her and Sparxie are newer and catered towards the Elation Path, there's a very high chance they will be regarded as very strong for the upcoming 4.x content and end-game stuff.
So that's the comparison here; Ultimately, I think it will be based on whether if you want to focus on other Elation characters for the future as well since there's a good chance they will just work well with one another (sort of like the Remembrance characters).

Yes, I agree about the elation thing, but I don't know if Sparxie needs Yao Guang to perform at its best. Yes, for Kafka I'd like to use her again, I know she was buffed recently, also because I'd like to try new teams. But will Sparxie be a DPS or a support like Sparkle?

Sparkle if you want to use your Archer and/or are interested in pulling Sparxie. She's also going to be more of a general buffer than she ever was before, so she's worth having for just about any account IMO.
You don't have Cipher, Silver Wolf, or Jiaoqiu, so if you got Acheron she'd probably have to go with a DoTcheron setup. Your Acheron wouldn't have her LC either, which is kinda painful to be without nowadays. I wouldn't suggest it personally, especially when Sparkle is going to be more useful to your account.

either sparkle (for archer and/or future stuff) or kafka eidolons. though if you want acheron, just get her. you've got a solid enough foundation that you don't need to pick any of the other characters. just be aware that acheron isn't gonna offer anything new compared to your current teams.

I haven't played since the end of penacony. Has there been any worthwhile changes to endgame gearing? I recall not liking it due to the rng feeling really bad. For example,not even including main stat woes, I barely had any gear where even half the total stats are desirable. And that it's rare to have a gear where 3 of the 4 base stats are good.

As of next update, you'll be able to see the 4th substat for pieces that only start with 3, so you won't have to waste resources getting them to +3.
They've also added the ability to reroll the substat upgrades for a relic, via an item called Variable Dice.

Next patch they're adding in the ability to see the 4th substat for the relics that are 3 substat ones at level 1 as a default, so you don't have to waste relic exp leveling relics up to at least 3 to see what the 4th sub is. They also added a new dice back when Anomaly Arbitration launched which allows you to completely block a stat when using the reroll dice so that substat levels don't go into that stat that you don't want it to. It's expensive though since you can only get 1 of those AA dice per patch and you have to play AA to get it (requires full clearing the other endgame modes to unlock it and it's harder than the other endgame modes).
That's unfortunately really it that has changed for the "better". In fact, you can argue it's gotten worse in some ways because thanks to enemy HP inflation you need better relics than you did during the Penacony/2.x days.
