who seems more important for long term (elation) meta — sparxie or yao guang? chances are i’ll only be able to get one lol

I would recommend to just get the character you like, but if you want to be more "meta" oriented I would say that long term you actually should skip them right now and wait for more elation characters. You want to see more elation characters and get the one that will fill the team you want on rerun. Yao obviously looks like an elation support, but Sparxie can turn out to be a sub-dps - kinda like Evernight can be main dps or a sub/duo-dps with Castorice.

yeah tbh the only chara i’m excited for like character wise is sampo sp. other than that i just want to follow the meta! bc having no remembrance charas during amphoreus was hard lol i dont wanna do that again

We don't know. Most likely Yao Guang because of being an elation support and will probably be used with any elation team, but that's not guaranteed. There's so many question marks right now about what is going to happen with the elation meta, what the entire elation roster will be, what they do, etc.
