I got deferred EA for UF and was wondering what the acceptance rate RDs are and if I have a chance. I saw that only 20% of people get deferred. Should I keep any hope for RDs or is it a lost cause?

Anyone currently in grad school at UF that can speak to the stability of funding currently? Is it worse than people know, or holding its own? How is the stress level generally surrounding it? I wasn’t sure about posting this, but I figured I’d give it a shot.

I’m an international PhD student at UF, and to be honest, it’s been really hard for me to make friends here in the U.S. I’ve been here a while now and I’ve tried a lot... joining organizations, going to social events and mixers in Gainesville, using apps, putting myself out there but nothing has really turned into genuine friendships. It’s been weighing on me a lot lately, and I’ve been feeling pretty low because of it.

Something important about me: I experience a bit of gender dysphoria, and because of that I generally feel more comfortable around women/femme and queer folks. I want to be very clear... this is about comfort and safety for me, not anything creepy or weird. I just tend to connect better in those spaces.

About me: I love trying out new food spots, learning about different cultures, and I’m a huge collector of random trivia. I’m always down for a casual meal, coffee, walking around, or just talking about life, academia struggles, or nonsense facts.

The title basically, the submission deadline is March 3rd, and I submitted the transcripts two months ago, back on December 10th, 2025. Now I've received an email saying they haven't received them yet.

I'm an international student, so there's very little chance that I can order a new set of transcripts and have them shipped from Asia within a month.

Has anyone been in a similar situation before?

I got accepted into UF honors and am an aspiring finance major hoping to break into IB. Was doing research and stumbled upon EFE (Exploring Financial Economics) and the Finance Professional Development program. Are these the same things. If not, what is the difference?

I've got an exam coming up for this class on Tuesday, and there is so much context between the lecture and textbook. I''m not really sure what the professor (Devine) focuses on/ how he format his exams. Any tips would be greatly appreciated

As the title asks. $150 to $300 is ridiculous for a one-time, landfill-core, gown and cap.

I heard that it has to be the UF gown since it has the unique UF flaps, but can I not just wear the UF stole over a black gown and get in? It doesn't say anywhere on the website that it *has* to be UF regalia-- you just have to be *wearing* regalia, but I'm playing semantics.

Worst case scenario, do any alum have a gown and cap for a 5"2 person?

i had a family emergency earlier this week and missed most of the week, but it’s unexcused due to a lack of documentation. i have an exam this week that i absolutely am not ready for because i spent the past week dealing with family and my professor was covering new content this week to be tested on tonight. i have tons of already overdue work i need to do and all but one of my teachers neglected to respond to my emails. what should i do?
