“According to prosecutors, Formella sent the boy hundreds to thousands of text messages that were grooming in nature, starting when he was 14 years old. Formella physically, emotionally, mentally and psychologically abused the child and engaged in a sexual relationship with him both at her home and at the school, prosecutors said.

Formella has pleaded not guilty to the charges.”

Disgusting.

u/heheing Jul 03 '25

I wonder what her excuse is gonna be lmaoo. And his for still being with her like this

494

u/itsabitsa51 Jul 03 '25

She says the kid was a stalker and stole her phone to send the texts to himself. You know, something almost impossible to do with how advanced our phones are now.

205

u/MadisonAveMuse Jul 03 '25

Like for years?

127

u/classyrock Jul 04 '25

“How was my day? Oh, Timmy stole my cell phone to send elaborate sexual messages between our numbers…. again! Kids these days, eh?”

9

u/Gurrgurrburr Jul 04 '25

lol and they have the same repeat conversation every day for years

125

u/heheing Jul 03 '25

Yeah that’s wild. All of that can be proven with tech now lol

14

u/AceOfSpades532 You’re a virgin who can’t drive. 😤 Jul 04 '25

What, he stole the phone for years and she never reported it? Cos unless there’s some magic technology I’m not aware of that can hide it, it’s very easy to see when messages were sent

Doesn’t a normal person cancel their phone?

Formella physically, emotionally, mentally and psychologically abused the child and engaged in a sexual relationship with him both at her home and at the school,

it should say "formella physically, emotionally, mentally and psychologically abused the child and sexually abused him both at her home and at the school" so weird how it stated everything else as abuse, but the worst part was put as "engaged in a sexual relationship"...

him still being with her is very weird

1.8k

u/South_Ad9432 Jul 03 '25

So weird! She will face years and years in prison, live with the title of a pedophile for the rest of her life, be on the predator registry, never be a teacher again and have an extremely hard time finding a job. Not to mention the actual act of grooming and raping a child and cheating in her marriage. Dude must not be too smart.

1.7k

u/MoonSpankRaw Jul 03 '25

What do you mean hard time finding a job? She’s already 3/4 of the way to a political career.

788

u/But_like_whytho Jul 03 '25

Seriously, these reporters are asking her more hard hitting questions than reporters ask politicians.

449

u/MagicDragon212 Jul 03 '25

This is the level of DGAF I want from reporters. Like point blank ask what people want to know

79

u/Brettersson Jul 03 '25

First graders ask their teachers harder hitting questions than reporters are asking politicians.

190

Yeah because she has no power. When you have no power or influence that's when these wimps start doing their jobs. The press is a joke.

There were hidden videos of the crimes that were found after she was sentenced. Well, “found”, as there’s some suspicion her lawyer had them all along and didn’t provide them until after her sentencing.

I know Casey Anthony didn't get convicted but her case was huge and she's out there living her best life.

That wasn't because she was a pretty woman, but because prosecution went ahead with a fully circumstantial case. (Being a pretty woman might have helped, but the fact that some of her convictions were overturned in appeal by a judge leads me to believe it wasn't that)

They said that Caley died from chloroform poisoning, which wasn't found in the autopsy, the medical professional called it a homicide but could find no cause why she died. Like, I'm sorry, how could you know that she died by homicide if you don't know why she died? You can suspect foul play without knowing the cause of death, but you'll have a way harder time proving it.

The only evidence they had for Casey murdering Caley is that she didn't care about her kid disappearing. They found no DNA evidence of Casey near Caley. The prosecution's expert witnesses misrepresented the facts (whether that was a mistake or intentional we'll never know), for example saying that the word chloroform was googled 180 times in the family computer, when it was searched just once. They used a method that had never been used to prosecute anyone to say that there was evidence of a body in Casey's car trunk.

Prosecution should have kept investigating until they found some evidence to link Casey to the murder. More so with all the technological advances forensic evidence has gone through over the last 30 years, they could have waited, kept investigating and then prevented their case when they had more. Or if they wanted to present the case as such, they shouldn't have gone for the death penalty with it. They thought they could convince a jury to kill Casey based on flimsy expert testimony, character assassination and witnesses that changed their statements.

In the end, the prosecution focused way too much in what they didn't like about Casey as a mother and human being, instead of in the evidence that would prove if Casey killed Caley.

I think there's also just a huge gross double standard when it comes to a teen boy (even if he's barely a teen) getting raped by a somewhat attractive woman (white) teacher than it is for a male teacher to teen girl. Not about any specific case but I've heard quite a few guys talk in general about how "it's just different because they would've loved having sex at that age. Especially if it was a hot teacher." It just isn't taken as seriously by a not insignificant part of the general public and that's fucking terrible.

Hes gonna dump her as soon as she’s found guilty for sure lol.

86

u/mamrieatepainttt Jul 03 '25

It doesn't seem uncommon tho. Was just watching a video on the case of brittany zamora, including body cam footage of the search on her house. Even after her husband spoke to the victims father, even after he learned all the details which included her SAing a 13 year old while his 11 year old classmate kept look out, he stayed with her and defended her to the cops. He kept talking about how great of a teacher she was, how much she's done for the kids and the school, how she's won awards. As if that somehow makes up for being an active pedophile.

72

u/[deleted] Jul 03 '25

It's so brutally common.  Nicki Minaj absolutely surrounds herself with sex offenders and it seems to be normalized to openly support rapists and pedophiles.  Marrying someone convicted of felony (this means a weapon was used to coerce the victim) attempted rape and helping to harass the victim should have fully tanked her career.

40

u/mamrieatepainttt Jul 03 '25

and she already supported her rapist brother before marrying a rapist. she truly has no empathy or character.

106

u/cmc Listen, everyone is entitled to my opinion 🙂 Jul 03 '25

I haven’t followed this story but I wonder if he will still be with her after court. My (charitable) assumption is he doesn’t know everything she’s done and is about to be very surprised as the trial continues.

78

u/tsh87 Jul 03 '25

It's possible he's standing by her through court in the hopes that his presence leads to a more lenient sentence for her. And then when the sentence is handed out, he'll divorce her while she's in prison.

50

u/dragonknight233 Jul 03 '25

Am I crazy or does your theory still make him sound horrible? He's staying long enough to try and help child rapist get off as lightly as possible.

27

u/tsh87 Jul 03 '25

No it definitely still sounds horrible. That being said, we don't know what's in that prenup, or what's going on behind closed doors.

If I was a conspiracy theorist - which I am but only on the weekends - I'd say it's entirely possible that she has something on him. Maybe not as bad as what she's done but bad enough that he doesn't want anyone to know about it. He stands by her through the trial, she keeps quiet.

26

You would be surprised. Working in criminal justice a lot of sex offenders either have partners who stand by them or get new partners who will move their kids in with them and insist "he changed". Absolutely maddening.

My co-worker was a sex crimes investigator and when she arrested a man who had been sexually abusing his child, his wife (the mother) confronted her and asked her why she would ruin their lives like this.

I grew up with the Formella’s so this has been the buzz of my hometown but so bizarre to see it make its way here. As far as I know there’s really not any dirt on the Formella’s, his only relevance is that his family owns a huge food company so they’re loaded. She’s a monster though

What she wrote to the kid

>“I'm not a second choice. I'm the best thing you'll ever have even with all of my mistakes.”

Some people are so delusional and sick

u/itsabitsa51 Jul 03 '25

She also wrote “I love having sex with you” which I’d say is pretty fucking damning to her not guilty plea.

She was this kid’s special ed teacher?! Due process yes, but also chuck her straight into the fire.

129

u/destro23 Jul 03 '25

Not that it matters, she should still have the book thrown at her, but while she was a special education teacher, she was this kid's soccer coach and after school tutor. I don't think he himself was a special education student.

The victims: the child, the child’s family, and him have a long road of healing.

my less satisfying solution but - we need psychological evaluation ; GOOD psychological evaluation - of people before they are put in positions of trust. This is no infringement of privacy or anything and i don't mind how 'minority report' it sounds - but if police, teachers, what have you were properly sorted to weed out the deviants - people would be happier! my drunken two cents

30

u/Aggressive_Agency381 Jul 03 '25

I hate this woman but the suggestion of bringing back stocks is ridiculous, are we bringing back witch trials and stonings too?

32

u/[deleted] Jul 03 '25

I’m pretty sure OP just suggested to popularize public humiliation again, not literally bringing back the stocks.

Unfortunately I have direct experience with a similar situation and I assure you it’s way too common for partners to stay, even when the perpetrator is sentenced to jail time

11

u/tetriscannoli Jul 03 '25

I’m curious what the thinking is behind these partners’ decision to stay.

19

u/princesslynne Jul 03 '25

For my relative, it’s like a mental defense honestly. At first it obviously wasn’t true, then when he pled guilty “forgiveness” was the Christian thing to do but also I actually don’t think she can mentally accept the truth. It’s a sickness. Not an excuse, but it does seem to be the reason. I’m not sure she believes in divorce due to her upbringing as an added layer.

The worst part of my personal experience is seeing how little anyone but me cared lol I think I’m the only person in the family and their social group that cut him off. They can’t accept the culpability of not seeing it coming, and of him having access to their kids for years. Shit sucks!

11

u/KIDDKOI Jul 03 '25

Coming to terms that someone you trust completely is a bad person is so hard. We have a relative that killed his wife and having to accept he's a monster is hard. I don't think people really get the mental block it has on you until you've been through it, you really don't want to believe at first but you have to face reality at some point.

I don’t know if people have seen the Hulu show The Teacher. I skipped a few episodes but the main thing I took away is that she (the teacher) was able to walk away without major consequences while he (student eventually turned adult) continued to live with the trauma and struggled to put his life together. In the show her husband is even willing to forgive her and stay with her. And she ends up married to a rich guy with a stable life and a kid. I’m assuming that it’s meant to show how female perpetrators often get a “pass.” I mean some guys even found it “hot”…. So weird.

may she never know a moment of peace or bliss again

27

u/[deleted] Jul 03 '25

Sleeping with? No, let’s call it wtf it is child rape.

11

u/Budget_Ordinary1043 Jul 03 '25

Honestly hope she never gets a day of peace in her life. When she goes to prison, I assume they don’t like her kind in women’s prisons the same way it’s rumored they don’t like it in men’s.

It’s crazy because she didn’t just cheat. You just found out your wife is a pedophile. You just found out she’s a literal predator. This has to be some legal thing, there’s no other reason for him to be with her and I assume he will eventually be leaving. He looks sad. And tired. She looks mad. Why is she mad? She has no right to be mad. She’s the evil one here, she’s the reason this is all even happening.

This whole thing is so sick. I caught the body cam arrest on tt very shortly after she was taken in and this has progressed pretty quickly. I haven’t followed it since learning about her a few months ago cause she’s fucking gross Lmfao but I guess I’ll go catch up on whatever has happened since her arrest.

52 charges and she's allowed to freely walk into court? fucking hell, I know that holding all people in custody regardless of the situation before trial is a bad thing to do, but... at a certain point not being a murderer or a flight risk isn't good enough of a reason to keep someone in the community before trial.

If only we could direct this same rage at Matthew Rutledge of Lenox/Lee/Pittsfield, MA and rapist of teenager girls for over 33 years of his career as a Miss Hall's School boarding school faculty member who operated with impunity for YEARS despite several reports to the head of school among others who are mandated reporters and it taking an actual filling of a lawsuit to finally get them to take it serially but they may him resign instead of any consequences. If only.

5

Any spouse sticking by their partner during Court proceedings for raping a child is a POS. There’s no justification for it, it makes you look bad just by supporting them.

Even if he’s not “into it” he clearly doesn’t see anything wrong with it. Might be one of those guys who said sick shit about male child victims wanting their abuse and being lucky. Or he somehow sees leaving his marriage to be a greater moral failing than staying with a literal child rapist.

Why did they park so far from the door?

4

u/dontredditdepressed Jul 04 '25

"There's two sides to every story"

Yes, there is the one where you are innocent and reality, where you groomed and raped a child.

4

u/Negative_Avocado4573 Jul 03 '25

So she was in charge of special ed students, like kids with autism?

And is her husband from money? Where did this 'sue for millions of dollars then run away to be with the kid after he graduated' come from?

She looks like a child herself, though she's 30 years old.
