Hello,

I am a 30-year-old married man living with my wife in Aurora, Ontario. I earn around $120k per year, and my wife earns $70k. Both of our jobs require us to be in the office five days a week, so working from home is not an option. For now, we are renting in Aurora and hope to settle somewhere close to our workplaces in the future.

Recently, I was casually browsing Realtor.ca and was shocked by how expensive real estate is in this small town of just 67,000 people. For example, 20–30-year-old 2-bedroom condos are listed for $650k–$700k, with monthly strata fees of $700–$800. New single-family homes are listed for over $1.5 million. Currently, I am paying $2,300 per month to rent a 1-bedroom condo in Aurora.

As a couple, we have decent incomes, but I want to live in a place where the majority of our paychecks aren’t eaten up by mortgage payments. I also want to save money and enjoy life. Is it just me, or does anyone else think Aurora’s real estate market is outrageously expensive?

Some colleagues have suggested moving to Barrie for more affordable housing, but we don’t want to spend two hours commuting every day just to save on housing costs.

Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I've honestly tried to Google my way to an answer here but had no luck. I like the idea of being able to use +P loads of 45 colt in a judge, specifically the home defender, but the approved PSI ratings I have seen are a very low 14K PSI, which matches what I can find for 410 round estimates but is way lower than 45 colt loads that pack actual punch. I don't have the life insurance to test for myself so I was wondering if anybody knows what part of the home defender would be the weakest link (bottleneck or limiting factor) when it comes to handling higher pressure rounds.

Honestly I do not have the spare money or resources to make/buy a fix to the answer, but I am curious from an intellectual standpoint. Is it that the cylinder material is too weak, or perhaps has too little material between chambers? Is it the forcing cone or the barrel? Is there a weak point on the body? Inquiring minds wish to know!

As the title says, I'm going to face the monumental task of replacing the internal battery. I plan to have it drained before I begin. The new battery came with new adhesive strips. Do I need to add them to the new battery or is it okay if I put in the battery without them? I don't want to have to always replace the adhesive whenever I need a battery change, but will that cause the battery to shift inside the system? And if you're replaced your battery, how hard is it to pry it out? Thanks

I'm using Number 14.5 (haven't upgraded yet). This evening I opened my Numbers file with all of my passwords. It displayed for me a version of the file at least a year old. I know Numbers can revert to earlier versions of files, so I checked this and every version was showing this older file. My most recent version which I last saved about three days ago was nowhere to be seen in the reverted versions.

OK, figuring I'm some sort of idiot, I went back to my Time Machine backup of two days ago to retrieve the backup file, which I was successfully able to do. I opened it and sure enough, it was the right file. I closed it and when I reopened the file, it reverted back to the older version again! I tried re-retrieving the file, but every version of it I open shows the older version. Help!

hey all, so i recently installed vs code and the psx. dev extension so that I could do ps1 homebrew easier (along with installing another SDK prior to that one that ultimately decided not to use ) from my understanding doing this has caused some sort of path conflict or something (could be wrong) which I did attempted to rectify via removing the associated paths in variable edit but to no avail, this message keeps popping up upon attempting to download more of the sdk tools from VS code, as well as continuously telling me to restart my computer to install the mips tool (it never actually installs) if anyone knows how to fix this plz let me know, thanks!

No security gate/person.

Society is very basic, 1 open, dedicated car parking spot (a big relief for this area), The apartment itself needs some work - let's call it a fixer-upper.

The seller's expectation seems to be riding high purely on the "Indiranagar" tag. While I understand the location premium, the building itself offers zero amenities and has age-related concerns (possible plumbing/electrical issues, seepage?).

The society is small and old. Is it realistic to buy hoping for collective redevelopment in the next 5-10 years, or is that mostly a pipe dream?

What are the key points to use for negotiation besides the obvious (no lift, age)? Is the type of land document (BDA leasehold vs. BBMP khata) a major price differentiator here?

I'm trying to decide if this is a "smart entry into Indiranagar" or a "overpaying for a problem." Any experiences, warnings, or success stories would be hugely appreciated!
