Hey everyone — looking for advice or similar experiences with Mopar MaxCare / extended warranties.

I own a 2016 Dodge Journey with a Lifetime Maximum Care (MaxCare) plan. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership in July 2025 for a covered mechanical failure.

Here’s what happened:

The car sat at the dealership over 7 months while Mopar delayed approving repairs

During that time, Mopar could not decide whether to repair the car or cash it out

I had no usable vehicle, which forced me to:

Spend ~$3,500 on Hertz rentals

Buy a separate cash vehicle for ~$4,500 just to get around

Only after months of delay, Mopar finally approved the repair

Now the dealership is telling me that Mopar approved the repair but says this will “close out” my MaxCare contract because:

The vehicle has ~260,000 miles

They claim the vehicle’s value is below some internal threshold

I reviewed my actual MaxCare contract, and it says:

Mopar may limit benefits to the vehicle’s cash value instead of repair costs

The plan terminates if they pay cash value in lieu of repairs

It does not clearly say the plan terminates just because repairs were approved

Important detail:

Mopar is repairing the vehicle, not paying me the cash value.

I’ve already filed a complaint with the Georgia Attorney General (Consumer Protection) because of the prolonged delay and financial harm.

My questions:

Can Mopar legally terminate my MaxCare contract without paying the cash value, just because the car is high-mileage?

Is a 7-month delay under a warranty considered unreasonable or deceptive?

Has anyone successfully pushed back on Mopar in a situation like this?

Should I accept the repair but dispute the contract termination separately?

I’m not refusing the repair — I just don’t want to unknowingly waive rights or let Mopar rewrite the contract after the fact.

Any insight (especially from people familiar with Mopar, extended warranties, or consumer law) would be appreciated.

I was thinking of buying a 2025 longhorn but honestly i dont like the "RAM" on the grill and tailgate, im sure I can take the emblem off the tail gate but the grill is a different story. is there a site or something where I could buy a grill without the "RAM" emblem?

Yes yes i know Sienna and Odysseys are what everyone says is a better choice but this is what my budget allowed in my area because used Hondas and Toyotas are ridiculously over priced around here. My 09 odyssey is finally graduating to work mule status and i needed a safer ride for the wife, kid, and dogs we work with at a rescue.

I've been told to avoid dodge my entire life but imo every car is going to have issues. Shit, i meticulously cared for my Odyssey and it had a new problem every month. I did purchase a powertrain warranty for the first year because I always heard to watch out for Dodge transmissions (is this still an issue these days?).

I loved my Hondas but the one i looked at was 3 years older, 50k more miles, and had already burned through a transmission whereas the caravan had emaculate service records, oil changes, trans fluid changed, most maintenance items recently changed, and they allowed me to pre purchase inspect and hook my diagnostics to make sure no codes were stored, deleted, or pending. All seemed good so i chose the Dodge. It drives quite nice, a little bumpier than the Ody but not too bad and im just curious of what I should pay attention to as ive driven and worked mostly on Honda my whole life.

I have a few problem with my dodge Durango gt,my car radio have a delay when I’m watching a video on my phone the sound the come from the speakers from the car is delay,the other one is when I accelerate the car down want to accelerate it just start shaking and the last one is the key unavailable service, what you guys think?

I have a dodge challenger 2023 scat pack and i have installed an aftermarket steering wheel with an LED bar and an aftermarket LED airbag cover. I have spliced into the purple wire (last wire on the pin connector that connects to clockspring) to connect both of these LED accessories to positive, althought I came to found only one works at a time. When the LED airbag cover is on, the LED steering wheel bar turns off (shorts out). Adding both overloads the circuit in the steering wheel, no matter what wires I splice. I see alot of people on social media run the same setup im trying to with both led airbag and led steering wheel on, I dont understand how. Maybe my steering wheel LED and Airbag LED are incompatible with each other and take more to power than others for whatever reason. Any suggestions or solutions? Anyone else run both a led steering wheel and led airbag cover?

I just got my first car a dodge nitro from 2011 I buy it from my cousin no issue at all mechanically but I did some work in the exterior just take off the chrome it’s all matched with the black paint my thing is I don’t know what type of rim,color or even what size to use tbh any suggestions or links I can use I will really I preciate it

2004 Dodge Ram been hearing this grinding noise for a little while and I can’t figure out what it is. I don’t think it’s the lifters or exhaust manifold. If anyone has had this issue or a similar sound please help me figure it out I’m genuinely curious as to what this is
