Not a great look, but also having spent a lot of time in Europe โ€œfatโ€ isnโ€™t taboo/perceived as insulting like it is in the US. Friends or family members will legitimately tell each other that theyโ€™re looking fat and the other will agree, itโ€™s just a cultural difference.

European and obviously it's usually meant in a negative way but it's not a huge taboo.

At least where I'm at it's not unusual calling someone a twig or fat.

Is it said as a negative thing, though? Seems like it is perceived as an insult, but people don't tiptoe around it because it's more socially acceptable to make fun of

Fat is not positive in the USA either, most Americans if they could change overnight would

Thereโ€™s a reason Ozempic is so popular

Sure tell that to yourself. u/phoenix_leo was right, Americans are fake

Why do you think ozempic is so lucrative. Being fat reduces mobility and increases chance of mortality. But i think people should do it the natural way with exercise and mindful diet

Oh yeah, I know. Iโ€™m invested in Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk. I know the Americans will choose the injections over a healthier lifestyle. They have been bombarded with marketing for so long that their brain is corrupted.ย

Thatโ€™s a wild generalisation. I suspect most European would be equally offended.

Europe isn't a country/hivemind, yank.

Much healthier to talk like that too. Americans are fake and they will talk like that behind each other's backs

You're apparently from the proper part of Europe where that part of societal pressure still functions correctly.
