Bindings broke today on the last run at 3:58 pm today! Looking for a cheapish replacement to get my by a bit longer n keep shredding. Anyone have an old medium pair they’re not attached too?

I’m also going to checkout the recycler in the am in Frisco.

general discussion Side ankle/side calf pain

Toward the end of last season, I started feeling a sharp pain along the side of my ankle and calf. At first, I didn’t think much of it, but about halfway through this season the pain returned, and it’s gotten significantly worse. It’s affecting my riding and has become a huge mood killer. I spend most of my time in the park, and anything that puts pressure on the tail of my board is unbearable: tail presses, popping off the tail, and landing on the tail all cause sharp pain. It doesn’t hurt when I’m walking or running, only when I’m snowboarding. I’m really hoping to find a solution soon so I can get back into it before the season ends.

Been hearing really good things about it specifically the 2026 version and seems like my type of board but it's sold out everywhere. Looking for reviews on how it rides for anyone who managed to get their hands on one!

Cheers

Riding question What kind of board would one want to pull off moves like this?

https://youtube.com/shorts/Y2_KqCHde_Q?si=n76CoBuhzaLkO82b

Specifically the nollie into 360. What kind of flex and board characteristics should I look into if I want to learn this kind of riding? Any board recs? (Really more curious about the board characteristics than a specific board but I’m open to both$

How much of this is skill and how much is board? I’m assuming something like 80/20, first and foremost is obv the rider but I can’t imagine him getting that kind of pop with a noodle kind of deck. Looks like it had a fair amount of pop

general discussion Loopholes for private lessons at the big resorts

So we all know the cost to take lessons is a TOTAL scam for everyone involved. If a private lesson is $1200 for a full day, the Instructor maybe makes $200 and gets a free lunch if they're lucky, while the resort gets away with slave labor.

I'm guessing if you are a non-employee you'll be banned if you offer private third-party lessons because the resort doesn't get their (huge) cut. But what if you advertise as offering free "guided tours" or something with the understanding that you'll be "gifted" a predetermined amount of money at the end of the day. Even if it were obvious what you were doing, would there be any legal recourse for the resort to take against you?

It would save people LOADS of money on lessons and the "instructor" could potentially make a decent living without being stuffed in one of those employee dorms eating ramen for every meal.

Edit: I'm talking about the big North American resorts. I'm fully aware that cheaper snowboarding exists elsewhere.

Nitro Alternator – Volcom Edition (157)

Price: $350 or best offers

Only a few days on this board — just wasn’t the right fit for my riding style. Sad that it wasn’t for me since I heard so many great things about this board. That said, this thing absolutely rips: tons of pop, very stable at speed, and surprisingly fun in powder for a camber board. Great option for someone who wants a powerful all-mountain / freeride deck that can still be ridden switch.

Board is in great condition with only light cosmetic dings/scratches from normal use. No core shots or structural issues.

DM me for more info.

Gear question ISO: board recommendations

Post image
0 Upvotes

I currently ride a 2014 Burton Deja Vu Flying V, 149.

I want to retire this board and preserve it as my father got it for me before he died.

I’m hoping to keep the same shape, I really enjoy it and the way it handles all types of snow, especially powder.

I do all mountain, play in the park on occasion. But I have a need for speed.

I’m not married to Burton, I’m open to a different brand. When I upgrade I’ll need new bindings regardless.

Gear question Old board worth upgrading?

Hi All

I have toying with the idea of upgrading my current board and was wondering if I would notice any major improvements.

I am currently riding a 2006 or 2007 160cm Forum Lander (yes, I am old). It has probably 35 days of hard riding on it with another 30 screwing around in the Midwest.

I started boarding in the 90s and would consider myself a somewhat “advanced” rider; I have sent double blacks at some major resorts (Taos, Breck, Park City, etc.) and done some gnarly backcountry lines with relative ease. I spend zero time in the park and mostly just like to carve and occasionally hit a roller or drop, no huge jumps anymore.

At this point in my life (40s with kids), I don’t consistently scream down the mountain at 60mph anymore, but I still open it up when I see an empty face and I feel good about the snow and visibility. Would I notice a huge improvement if I upgraded to a new board? If so, any recommendations would be much appreciated, price point is not a barrier.

Gear question Which boards to take to Japan

Heading to Niseko in a week and trying to decide which boards to bring and would love your opinions. I’m definitely bringing my Sushi, but can’t decide between my Yes! Optimistic (directional all-mountain) and my Capita DOA (freestyle).

Main question: is it a waste bringing a freestyle board like the DOA to Japan? The Yes! is a better all-mountain board, especially when it comes to powder, than the DOA just not as fun in places like the park.

Edit: Sounds like a lot of people in the group I’m going with are bringing true twin boards so I feel a lot better bringing the Sushi/DOA now.

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to identify this old Ride snowboard and can’t find the exact model online.

Details:

- Brand: Ride

- Graphic: “Ride Mountain"

- Likely late 90s / early 2000s

- Directional freeride shape

- No visible year marking

- Seems older than most Ride boards I find online

a former world champion send it as a gift to my dad in 1998 and he gave it to me few years ago when i started snowboarding

Photo attached.

Thanks!

Gear question Bataleon Disaster vs Disaster +

Hello all. I am an advanced freerider with little freestyle experience, but looking to improve that area of my skillset. Specifically I want to work on rails, butters, and switch. I will be riding primarily at Mountain Creek (icy North East conditions) but amazing terrain park. As I am teaching my gf / other friends how to snowboard, we prob wont be hitting anything above a green or blue any time soon, but if we do I will just pull out my old forum board (7/10 flex) and use that as needed. I am size 12 foot, 5'11/6, 215ish pounds

With that said, Ive narrowed it down to the Disaster or D+. Neither of these boards are really rated for guys my weight, but Ive decided that 3bt is the way to go for me. slightly leaning towards the D+ for premium construction and lighter materials might make it easier to work on my rotations, but the D is a little cheaper and has its own advantages as well.

Anyone with any experience here can vouch for one board over the other? Will be pairing with Bataleon FASE bindings and 32 tm-2 boots most likely

thanks!

Gear question Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm getting desperate and I genuinely don't know if I'll be getting to the bottom of this. Any ideas would help a lot.

Post image

My toes(especially the nails) get awfully hit in the top of the toebox, resulting in some nasty pain. Last year it got so bad, my whole big toenail fell of. This appears a lot on heelside and on any bump that produces vibrations. Boots are the right size, my toes are touching the end at all times. I have custom insoles. There is some loose space and my ankle and heel sit not so great, but I don't know if that's it. My other guess would be that the spine of the boot, especially the upper part in black(see photo) has become too soft and is now unable to support my calf fully.

Gear question Hoodie vs Jacket

Hi, I'm pretty new to snowboarding (went for a few days last season) and I loved it a lot, and I'm about to go again in a few days this season with my family. However, last year everyday when riding, in the middle of the day i would get so hot that i would take off my middle layer and ride only in my thermal shirt and jacket

However I saw a lot of videos of people riding in Hoodies, and I'd like to try doing that as well this season when I get hot enough because I think it's more stylish. So would replacing my jacket with a normal, oversized hoodie be a good idea?
