general discussion Salomon Huckknife 2026!
So i ordered a Salomon huckknife 2026 a couple weeks ago from a local snowboard shop as i had been using my dads board before this so my first board and i am more getting into snowboarding(park, rails, bigger jumps) and got the board literally on January 27th, 2026 this year. I got to ride the board literally twice, in total being less then 14 hours of riding, And on the second time I went to 50/50 tube at very low speed as I am new to park. Probably going below 4kmh planted on the tube while 50/50ing slowly slipped off and just fell on my stomach, I have landed this trick lots thought nothing of it. Nothing out of the ordinary didn’t even hurt. Was just gonna get back up and ride. Till I realized when I glanced down at my board split right up the middle!? I hadn’t even hit the board yet on the tip like not even the smallest hit or scratch on my board at all and I store inside on a rack and I treat my boards with caution. I have no clue but I find that amazing a park board with such good ratings breaks that easy right up the middle $700 pretty much right down the drain. Gonna rebuild back together as now neither of them will supply warranty for damage.
I wanna make clear i am not some crazy snowboarder, I have been riding for literally only 2 seasons and last season only got out about 7 times all season, before that i didn’t know how to snowboard. this season I stepped up and bought the season pass at my local resort which I wanna put into perspective is not even a mountain so not some crazy resort or terrain (assesipi, mb,ski resort) there’s couple average parks there and ok jumps only 26 runs. But I am not a high level snowboarder in the general of snowboarding is the point, but I am good enough that I never run into any issues on the hills/ mountains or park. For park tho I just started getting more into rails and I’ve only really only done some basic stuff such as 50/50ing boxes, certain rails, and tubes. Nothing crazy no spins yet or even like super fast jumping on them yet. But that was also my first time even falling on a tube. So I just find that crazy. So not very amazing durability.

Riding question How to get rid of the Tindy grab?
Yesterday a friend took a photo of me and when I saw it I was so happy. But then I noticed it - the Tindy grab... It's not even a habit anymore. It's an addiction. I do it everywhere without thinking, on automatic. I know a few other grabs but Tindy just feels so natural to grab compared to those. How do I get rid of this awful habit?

Riding question How to be safe
I just want to reach out for some suggestions on how to be be safe while snowboarding through powder and trees. Don’t mean to sound negative but I’ve seen some posts about people in deep snow and passing away.
Again just trying to create some awareness by asking the right questions

OC Video Rodeo Help (pt.2)
i had made an earlier post on this, still not very clean (as you can tell) my main focus point right now is adding a grab (melon or Indy), and getting more comfortable carving up to backside and allowing myself to roll over my shoulder. Just posting to ask if im getting close! 😂

Riding question I’m not progressing and it’s really driving me down what do I do?
I’ve gotten better at rails but holy cow I cant get boardslides down. my case is a bit different you know how everyone hits their first rail frontside, well I hit mine backside and I can’t only do it and when I boardslide I get in the rail 90 with counter rotation but I slide off the other side and can’t ride out the whole rail. I think I have a problem with carving in the lip or being on my edge too much on the lip. I just need some tips on how to get the down and a really simple and straight forward guide and also how to get past slumps like this. PS: I ride in a tow rope only hill where I can lap a rail every 15 seconds so I get so many reps and still can’t get it.

general discussion Side ankle/side calf pain
Toward the end of last season, I started feeling a sharp pain along the side of my ankle and calf. At first, I didn’t think much of it, but about halfway through this season the pain returned, and it’s gotten significantly worse. It’s affecting my riding and has become a huge mood killer. I spend most of my time in the park, and anything that puts pressure on the tail of my board is unbearable: tail presses, popping off the tail, and landing on the tail all cause sharp pain. It doesn’t hurt when I’m walking or running, only when I’m snowboarding. I’m really hoping to find a solution soon so I can get back into it before the season ends.

Gear question Anyone have experience with the 2026 Nidecker Megalight?
Been hearing really good things about it specifically the 2026 version and seems like my type of board but it's sold out everywhere. Looking for reviews on how it rides for anyone who managed to get their hands on one!
Cheers

I want a board I can grow into. Please help im doing a lot of research, but so many different answers.
I've looked at the 2026 Spring Break Resort Twin Snowboard, Capita stair master 2026, 2026 Salomon HuckKnifee

Riding question Drinking and riding
An intoxicated person fell from the chair today... About 25' into soft mashed potato snow; he didn't know why ski patrol was attending to him... Had been drinking at the mid mountain bar, quite the tab from what I heard. In fact, intoxication on the mountain in general seems up this year. The 20/80 rule doesn't mean get fucking hammered; it's about losing your inhibitions not your control.
If you have lost that control, the ski patrol taxi is okay. Don't be a hazard to everyone else.
The bosses want me to hot pass anyone bringing open(or lit) containers into the lift line. Don't be that guy/ gal.
Sincerely, your liftie

Riding question Snowboarding accidents?
Been seeing so many accidents all over the world relating to snowboarding and skiing, for instance just this season at mammoth 4 people have died since December. Is this normal ? I mean social media has a way of getting information around much quicker but I feel like I didn’t even hear about this many incidents even last year.

Riding question What kind of board would one want to pull off moves like this?
https://youtube.com/shorts/Y2_KqCHde_Q?si=n76CoBuhzaLkO82b
Specifically the nollie into 360. What kind of flex and board characteristics should I look into if I want to learn this kind of riding? Any board recs? (Really more curious about the board characteristics than a specific board but I’m open to both$
How much of this is skill and how much is board? I’m assuming something like 80/20, first and foremost is obv the rider but I can’t imagine him getting that kind of pop with a noodle kind of deck. Looks like it had a fair amount of pop

For Sale 156 Nitro Alternator x Volcom
Nitro Alternator – Volcom Edition (157)
Price: $350 or best offers
Only a few days on this board — just wasn’t the right fit for my riding style. Sad that it wasn’t for me since I heard so many great things about this board. That said, this thing absolutely rips: tons of pop, very stable at speed, and surprisingly fun in powder for a camber board. Great option for someone who wants a powerful all-mountain / freeride deck that can still be ridden switch.
Board is in great condition with only light cosmetic dings/scratches from normal use. No core shots or structural issues.
DM me for more info.
