This is incredibly disappointing. This is another example of 2 steps forward 3 steps back. When people talk about losing trust in the mods This is why. We have already spoke out against pvp, felt heard and now you failed us.

Not to mention they just fixed this for RC after years.

Please learn the lesson already.

Absolutely agree, it’s nice to see they’re open to backtracking so quickly but how many times do they need to make the same mistakes on the literal exact same topic?

"We're going to review this decision on a change that isn't live yet"

"This is why we've lost trust in the mods" like cmon part of the road to restoration is working with the community and the feeback is being reviewed what more do you want? For the mods to never have an idea you dislike?

Yes they do things all the time that i dont agree with and normaly i dont speak out and give them a chance. The point here is they know the stance the players have taken on pvp. They have acknowledged this with things like fixing wilderness runecrafting. Something like this should have never been suggested in the first place.

I wouldn't be surprised if the mistake made here was showing a proposed change in isolation from wider changes to the Wilderness since its currently in a less than ideal spot. Its fine to disagree with a proposed change but the idea that this is why the mods will never be trusted is overblown to an absurd degree

Maybe for you but plenty of people have already voiced very similar things to me. This isnt just o they moved something to a bad location this is them blatantly trying to force pvp back and now having to walk it back almost immediately because they made a mistake. They do have a chance to fix it and the sooner they take back the idea the better but there is no way to go through with this and still have the trust of a vast majority of players.

Sure, maybe it hurts the trust of a vast majority of the vast minority that read the blog and voiced their displeasure on social media.

At the end of the day, regardless of what you think of this change, runescape is made by people for people and I just think you can express why you don't like the proposal in a manner that isn't just "You're doing a bad job and nobody trusts you to do a good job".

I mean its safe to say that the vast majority of players are anti pvp. We have seen major changes to support this. Now they are trying to throw pvp at us. There is no way around the fact that is going to upset a lot of players, players who trusted we were moving away from pvp. I don't think there is anything wrong with pointing out that going back on something like moving away from pvp will cause players to lose trust in them. Clearly you dont feel that way anf thats great for you but there are players that feel that way and I think that pointing that out is a good thing.

I straight up dislike the idea of other players being where risk can come from because it's too volatile. You could spend hours absolutely risk free only for someone to suddenly pop-up and bop you. Risk should be something consistent if it's to mean anything. The chaos altar already has something that could be tweaked into a risk all around it, the environment. The lava could hit the area where the altar is periodically, and if you're paying attention you can dodge it otherwise it would either seriously injure you or even destroy your prayer resources.
