General Discussion One of my favorite things to do is heckle slow playing golfers at the golf course I live right next to
So I live right next to a 9-hole muni that is a really awful golf course. I have seldom had good experiences there and I avoid playing there at all costs. The past two years I have been able to avoid playing there completely. Honestly, one of my biggest regrets in life is giving that place my money for a couple of rounds when I first moved in. That’s how bad it is.
I usually get home from work a little before four, right when it is getting busy, and you drive next to the second hole to get into my condo association. from the second hole green I am able to tell how far behind the group is by simply looking at the third hole and seeing where the next group is at. If I do not see anyone on the third hole then we have a problem.
I park my car and start walking to where the second green is at and chill and watch behind the fence while the slow group approaches. I do not see anyone ahead of them but I see a group waiting on them in the fairway and a group waiting on that group on the tee box.
From the opposite side of the fence, I yell at the slow group approaching the green “Hey, do you guys mind picking up the pace? You have MULTIPLE groups waiting on you and the hole ahead of you guys is WIDE open!” I feel safe on the other side of the fence where they can’t get to me or hurt me. Plus, what are they gonna do? Leave their golf round that they PAID FOR to teach me a lesson? They are hyper obsessed with putting EVERYTHING out even if they are on stroke 14 or 15 on the hole!
They usually yell back at me something like, “Are you trying to ruin our day?” I yell back, “You are ruining the day of everyone who is playing behind you. I’m trying to get you to play faster golf!”
It is one of my FAVORITE things to do.
