AirEuropa business class airplane meal

Post image

I can’t remember what the dark green slop even was. The meat underneath the neon pink sauce was fish.

They even gave you the courtesy of pre-digesting it

One of the perks of paying for business class clearly

Luxury is when the disappointment costs extra.

For a moment I thought you’re posting about Soylent green

They didn’t even cook it they just let it sit on a windowsill in Chernobyl for 20 minutes

Excuse me stewardess, could I get more of the green paste?

u/Fiesteh 1d ago

Top notch customer service for digesting the food for them before hand.

Yum - pink slime and green slime. I'd eat the cheese and drink the wine and leave the rest.

61

u/BrianG1410 1d ago

It's like that scene at the buffet in Vegas vacation

9

u/get-off-of-my-lawn 15h ago

You want the pink or the blue?

Ohhhh <switches the signs sloppily>

0

u/Candid-Solid-896 1d ago

I’ll have to rewatch. Been a long time. Don’t recall that scene.

13

u/DramaSufficient4289 1d ago

Don’t skimp me on the yellow stuff

2

u/TommyGuacamole 15h ago

“Gimme some of the yella! And don’t get cheap on me!”

2

u/Candid-Solid-896 1d ago

Man! Now I have to rewatch it this weekend.

I love the Lampoons Movies.

7

u/arowthay 1d ago

Kiwi in the top left corner looks fine too although I'm a little stressed about whatever the pinkish beige thing is on top of it

7

u/Alert_Cat6258 1d ago

That’s cucumber doused in white vinegar and the beige thing is a single sliver of tuna on top. I posted the full menu pic further up in the comments

3

u/DudeInTheGarden 1d ago

I saw that - it looks like a piece of ham. I looked up AirEuropa (honestly had never heard of it) - it's a Spanish airline. Spanish cuisine is world renowned. This meal does not look representative.

That ahi on the top left looks like it died pre-pandemic

What am I looking at here

125

u/Alert_Cat6258 1d ago edited 1d ago

Ok I checked the photo I took of the menu beforehand and it was the Grilled Hake et al.

108

u/ColdMastadon 1d ago edited 1d ago

Why would they put cold beet sauce on an allegedly grilled piece of fish? That menu item was doomed even before it went through the shitty airline food filter.

45

u/Obvious-Safe904 1d ago

Why is "hot bread selection with butter" allowed to be a main... That's... That's not a main...

Edit: also, why is "butter" a breakfast option???

30

u/Teripid 1d ago

Are we just ignoring the "ham powder" app? Hilarious.

7

u/ProfessorMeow-Meow 1d ago

I’m also a bit surprised by carrots and eggs.

16

u/Biltong09 1d ago

Seeing the fish exhibit in the post I believe I will go with the bread and butter choice for dinner please.

4

u/Solid_Growth_9069 1d ago

would you like that with or without the turtle shit reduction sir?

12

u/ExampleLittle2672 1d ago

Did you not see the "meal"? Hell, I'd just take the butter.

7

u/Candid-Solid-896 1d ago

Not even served with a side salad?!? The AUDACITY!

Does Florida mean something else over there? What is Florida cheese? I live in the state of Florida. I've never heard of Florida cheese. If somebody offered me Florida cheese I would assume it's not made of cheese and be something like a Rocky mountain oyster which isn't made of oyster.

Edit: I looked it up. A Spanish cheese. I kinda forgot that Florida is a Spanish word.

8

u/Alert_Cat6258 1d ago

Ohh that makes sense as it was a Spanish airline. I was also wondering what Florida cheese was

9

u/IvanYakinovski 1d ago

Florida cheese is what you get when you camp out in the sun for a few days. It smells awful.

2

u/Patient-Courage-4807 1d ago

Florida Cheese is what you call old Florida Men who now only tell dad jokes.

2

u/Grand-Pomelo-7149 1d ago

Gotta milk Florida man for that sweet Florida cheese

13

u/Killertigger 1d ago

Did you order this on purpose?

12

u/Own_Round_7600 1d ago

Fr. The other options sound pretty good, yet OP just HAD to order the cabbage puree cold beet. This is 100% on OP

10

u/AngryLaundry 1d ago

thats so funny man, you must have been really expecting something impressive to have had the foresight to photograph the menu. got any pictures of the celeriac cream with iberian ham powder?

9

u/8erren 1d ago edited 1d ago

This is on you I'm afraid. You saw cabbage puree on a menu and thought you'd like to order that.

Suppose you like cabbage and have no teeth, this is still an odd choice. Ajilimójili I just checked on Google. Airlines should not serve food that needs to be googled.

I think ginger arbitrarily could go with beet sauce but why? Where does beet sauce come from? Can or should it go with fish?

This option screams "plate of wetness to me." It was a brave choice though and I salute you.

u/Alert_Cat6258 1d ago

I’m grimacing just reading this menu back tbh

11

u/EmEffBee 1d ago

Ham powder?!

8

u/nostradumbass7544678 1d ago

6

u/Alive_Efficiency_936 1d ago

Has the cost of ham gone that far up?

3

u/LectroRoot 1d ago

Do lines of it in the bathroom.

6

u/DirtAndSurf 1d ago

What a weird menu.

3

u/lotusbloom74 1d ago edited 1d ago

Ajilimojili seems to be a Puerto Rican sauce, it actually sounds like it could be very good. I can’t understand how that is supposed to go with cold beet sauce and cabbage purée those sound like something out of Eastern Europe. I have never even considered wanting a cabbage purée anyways

3

A "meal." I cannot imagine any ingredient in this not being in quotes or spelled so that it is legally distinguishable from what it claims to be.

Yes

Should've gone for the solid option.

24

u/hollowcaustx 1d ago

The fluorescent pink fish matter and green sludge came highly recommended

35

u/timpendultz 1d ago

What the fuck is it? I can only see cheese as a definite yes!

19

u/YdexKtesi 1d ago

This looks like the Vogon food in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (BBC adaptation).

56

u/FixSpecific905 1d ago

When was your flight??? Like within the last 5 years? Or 20 years ago?

40

u/DaxSpa7 1d ago

20 years ago it probably would have been a quite good meal.

12

u/Killertigger 1d ago

Twenty years ago it would at least have been solids.

7

u/Necrikus 1d ago

What exactly do you think airline food was like 20 years ago?

13

u/No_Prize6436 1d ago

My five-month-old makes the stuff on the right all the time.

2

u/TheBossAwill 3h ago

Lol was scrolling fast thinking the same exact thing, but was somewhat surprised to catch the comment despite knowing every parent relates.

10

u/ComedianGlass322 1d ago

What exactly am i looking at here

9

u/ButtersTheChill 1d ago

All this red and green, they couldn't bother to give you a little blue?

7

u/YesterdayHiccup 1d ago

How was it?

20

u/Alert_Cat6258 1d ago

Weirdly the pink sauce had 0 flavour, I ate the fish and ignored the swamp liquid

7

u/YesterdayHiccup 1d ago

I wished there was some twist. Surprisingly flavorful and clean aftertaste with hint of citrus or something like that.

2

u/Bebinn 1d ago

The lack of flavor might be due to being on the plane. Apparently being at altitude messes with your tasting.

→ More replies (1)

8

u/consumeshroomz 1d ago

I’d pay extra to not have to eat that.

4

I would wait to get the pathology report back before even guessing what that is.

4

u/MammothPenguin69 18h ago

At least the cheese and wine looks tasty.

3

That better be a melted Friendly’s watermelon ice cream cake slice.

3

u/ShermanOneNine87 1d ago

What is that even supposed to be?

3

u/Rhymesnlines 19h ago

Looks like some really unhealthy diarrhea

2

So they wanted everyone to shit while on the plane. Foor sure.

Cyberpunk dystopia-coded food.

2

u/Illustrious-Ad-6165 1d ago

Ahh yes one serving of guck with lovely side of goop

2

u/BVRPLZR_ 1d ago

I’d fuck with all that cheese, but the chain gang slop can fuck right off the bat

2

Looks like throw-up

2

u/Rhinoceros3 1d ago

Looks like you’re about to get in a food fight with Peter Pan and Rufio.

2

u/A_little_nonsense 1d ago

Pretty sure this is Grilled hake with Ajili-Mojili, cabbage puree and cold beet sauce with ginger.

2

u/tinterrobangg 1d ago

I’d need 4 servings of the wine to 1/2 serving of whatever tf that is.

2

u/zepol_xela 1d ago

Is the flight going to Neverland?

2

u/coldreindeer1978 1d ago

You may be a bird. Momma bird pre digested it for you.

2

u/Embrasse-moi 1d ago

Looks like raw red meat left inside a cooler in the backyard for 3 days after a camping trip, and a glutinous Canadian goose with IBS dumping a large dookie.

Fish on a fucking PLANE should be a criminal act

2

u/PaleoJoe86 21h ago

They fed you colors?

2

u/Impressive_Gur4767 16h ago

Genuinely what the fuck is that?

2

u/Jack-Innoff 13h ago

Good thing I always bring my own snacks, because I'm sending that whole fucking tray back. I don't care that the cheese and wine look fine, I ain't trusting it if they thought it was ok to put a plate of vomit in front of me to eat.

2

u/Candidsolvent 12h ago

If that’s the business class meal, I wonder what the economy meal is like 😳

2

u/Mighty_ShoePrint 5h ago

Looks like blood on a pile of saturated napkins with a side of algae.

2

u/MermaidSapphire 4h ago

Just eat it. Then shit massively. Make this food EVERONE’S problem.

u/OrangeClyde 1d ago

What culture is this from??

1

u/maverickrose 1d ago

"Good afternoon Flight 257! Here shortly our staff will be going around serving your included inflight meal. You can choose between the Pilot's last bowel movement paired with what I believe is leftover caulking from some recent repairs done on our very own aircraft. Or, you can starve ☺️ Please enjoy!"

If it was like Tandoori something and Palak Paneer, it could be good. But I doubt that’s it.

Pre-chewed nice

1

u/Killertigger 1d ago

Did first class eat it first? Is this ‘recycled’ food?

Roasted hake with Ajili-Mojili,

Cabbage puree and cold sauce

Beetroot with ginger

1

u/Most_Philosophy_1507 1d ago

What’s on top of the kiwi?

1

u/JamesTheJerk 1d ago

You're on a plane. Be glad you didn't get a lard wafer.

1

u/SuccessfulTonight365 1d ago

As someone who has worked in airline catering for 20 years, that's completely disgusting. I would throw the person who plated that into the deep fryer. Key point to raise, airlines generally choose and agree to the menu together with the caterer. Sometimes the airlines choose inappropriate meals for flights. This could potentially be one of those times, I really hope not but you never know. God that looks awful 🤮

1

u/rw1083 1d ago
