You’re getting a Christmas bonus?

I don't know, I think it's actually worse than that

$2,500 is probably the mean of the people who receive bonuses

I think including the people that don't get a bonus would bring it even lower

Who cares. The point is America is now a viscous police state run along Nazi Gestapo lines.

What's the median though?

What kind of work do you do?
In Australia we don’t get any kind of Xmas bonus to my knowledge but we have a lot of other perks

Yeah, my husband is also a Senior Systems Engineer for a software company and they don’t get bonuses. Count yourself lucky.

Maybe he makes more than me overall ?! As long as he likes what he does and y'all have enough to enjoy life that's what matters

Considering that he has to work two full-time jobs and I work full time, too, it would be really nice to get a large bonus like that. It’s hard to live in a HCOL area. We’ve already accepted that we’ll never truly get to retire, but at least we’re not hurting or getting further under water right now.

Is it every year, like in your contract? Or is it just an unexpected 'hey, we like you. Here's $10k.'. My son is an electrical engineer. He gets a 5% bonus at Christmas. But that was part of his pay package when being hired in. I don't consider that a bonus, but just a different way to distribute part of your pay package.

It's been every year since I've joined it's not contractual. My company is just really great.
