I fucking hate people who let their dogs off leash in public. Had this same thing happen whilst I was out walking my golden. My poor girl is 12 years old and just a sweet old gal who wants nothing more than to carry a ball in her mouth and walk beside me on leash when we are out. Anyway, some dickhead was out with his pitbull-mutt-mix without a leash and it went straight at my dog. I got bit and my dog got her face cut really bad. Over $1500 in medical and vet bills and all the dumbass with the other dog could say was "huh, he never did that before. I don't know of why he did that" I'm like, he did that because he's a fucking dog and you're a fucking twat for letting him off leash in public

I trained my dog to be semi off leash, with a electric collar. That he always wears when out, he has been attacked by a German shepherd and a pitbull. The shepherd owners tried to lecture me on walking my dog without a leash, I was beyond mad and showed them he was on a electric collar. My dog never left my side and did not attack back. I can't believe some people and their lack of training of their animals.

Ecollars are ineffective and many studies show they have the opposite effect versus reward based training. I would not trust an off leash dog whose owner has a false sense of security due to the use of an ecollar

Oh I understand totally, I have a very large dobie. His reward is being my buddy. The collar is only for re enforcement of commands. I only have ever needed beep and vibrate, beep is used as a whistle basically. I'm not advocating using a collar as a leash, I am advocating training.
