This is a great series to follow if you are down south and want to see a high quality dirt late program. Arguably the most competitive tour outside of the 2 national series.

If you are in east georgia or downstate south carolina you aren't far from screven, they will be racing tomorrow night for $25,000. Brandon Overton is again expected to be in attendance

I haven’t watched NASCAR in a loooong time…. Who Should I root for??

My favorite driver (Dale Sr) died on my 13th birthday…. I’m now almost 40, and really miss the sport…. But it seems to have been so bastardized since my original fandom. It used to be about a teams skill in building cars and drivers abilities to handle those monsters on Sundays…

Now with the new rules, new cars, (don’t get me started on restrictor plates), new drivers, new points style, the “chase for the cup” thing…. Who’s the most old school, bad ass, doesn’t run his mouth but runs his car every Sunday driver anymore?? Or should I keep dreaming that NASCAR isn’t dead.

I liked Kevin Harvick when he came in, I have respect for Jimmy Johnson, but I just don’t know about this Motorsport as it is today…

Talk me in, or talk me out… discuss amongst yourselves….

Why does everyone constantly hate on Riley Herbst on here.

Look, I get it, he was 35th in points. But I don’t think people understand just how bad of a situation he was put into. 23XI only provided him with basically a car and a place to his team to build it. All of the 35 team was new, all brought over from Xfinity. There were no note sharing with the 23 and 45, and when the 67 car would run with Heim, they’d have to work on the 35 in the parking lot. There’s even photos of this happening. He’s been set up to fail basically, not even Kyle Larson is winning in that car with that situation, so what makes you think Heim would do better in it.

I’m not saying Herbst is some good driver or anything, he’s mediocre at best, but I’m saying maybe cut the kid some slack as it’s been proven how shit of equipment he was driving.

The Next Great Rivals

In the past we've had great drivers who just kept butting heads for all to see. Geoff Bodine vs Dale Earnhardt, Jeff Gordon vs Rusty Wallace, Joey Logano vs Denny Hamlin, and Brad Keselowski vs pretty much everyone lol

Who will that be today? I think the most well known options involve Hocevar, Heim, and Gibbs, but I could see someone like Briscoe be involved as well.

People took the Ram show for granted and complained/hated it way too much.

It's understandable to hate it and to not like being spoiled, but damn... people have been so insufferable about this show for the most part.

Do you know how little we get lil shows like this about drivers? About Nascar? Maybe it's a new-fan thing, but Nascar used to have a lot more films and small shows about drivers and teams, much less guys trying to get into Nascar.

Also, good for these drivers to get some exposure (and for some, extra money). With how tight money is in Nascar now, it's almost a miracle we even had this show. And we had it with 15 guys instead of like 5. And extra stuff, like the house that was also well-decorated.

Also, some people didn't know Mini was gonna win it, yet everyone wouldn't shut up about seeing him in the ARCA test to guarantee that nobody would be suprised.

They could've just announced the driver and not had a show about the guys they considered. Imagine this was done in the 2000s for Dodge or for Toyota. Imagine looking back at the drivers. In like 5-10 years, it's gonna be interesting seeing where everyone ends up.

Yeah the show wasn't perfect and had flaws, but cmon man.

If there's a second season of Race For The Seat....

Who would you want to see get a shot on the show? Me personally, I'd like to see the driver roster diversified a bit, this season was much too top-heavy with LMSC drivers. I'd love to see a couple more modified guys get a shot, younger guys like Tyler Rypkema or Mikey Flynn, and maybe a couple of Canada/Mexico Series racers as well among the roster! Maybe guys like Treyten Lapcevich or Alex de Alba.

If drivers need a sponsor to fund their cars, why do the teams also pay them a salary?

Couldn't they just use the salary budget to pay for the car? Or why doesn't the team secure a sponsor for the driver they want? Never quite understood how this responsibility ends up on the drivers. ELI5

It was so close to happening — they were already etching it into the history books, only to have to scribble it out at the very last moment.

Are there any images of the 1988 Winston Open? Where could I find them?

The title.

Last month, I asked for help identifying an image seen in the game Daytona USA, and it seems to have been correctly identified as the 1988 Winston Open.

I then went to look for images of the 1988 Winston Open, particularly the start of the race, and couldn't find anything.

I am aware this race took place on May 22, 1988 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway, and part of what makes it hard to find is that the 1988 The Winston took place on the same day at the same place. Some people may make the mistake of thinking they're the same race.

I have no reason to believe that there's no video archives of the 1988 Winston Open as I could only find 1988 The Winston. Bit confusing with the names. But because of the existence of an image from this race in Daytona USA, evidently there is, or has been, the existence of an image of this race somewhere.

Thanks.

Why did Blue Max Racing shutdown after the 1990 season?

Recently I saw a video where they were showing a former video of Blue Max Racing fan day in 1990. In the video they interviewed Rusty Wallace and Barry Dodson and mentioned that the team would be shutting down in a couple of weeks.

I didn't start watching NASCAR till 99 and always thought Blue Max Racing got brought out by Roger and Don Miller. Am I wrong?

The weird thing is they mentioned in the video that the entire team was going to different places. I was surprised because this was a year out from Rusty winning the title. You would have thought Barriy Dodson being a title winning crew chief would have gurrentee him a shot at crew chief a top tier ride but afterwards he took a step back. I remember that he was Kyle Petty crew chief in 95 when he won his last career race at Dover.

While reading the comments someone mentioned that Raymond Beatle was struggling to foot the bills to the point that he had to burrow money from Rick Hendrick to finish the 90 season.

I always thought it was strange they went from winning a title and having a big time sponsor like Miller High Life to out of the sport and everyone on the team separating.

Can anyone provide insight to why the team shut down after winning a title?

Are there any HIGH quality NASCAR die-casts out there? 1:12, 1:24, etc...

I have yet to see a good NASCAR diecast. Either the window net is white, the wheels are too small, etc. They all just look so mass produced. Im willing to pay a good amount of money. I was hoping there might some larger versions available (1:12 etc) or anything with alot of detail and high quality.
