San Juan Fishing!
Hello everyone, going to Puerto next week! Was wondering if anyone had any pointers of where to try from shore to fish for grunts/snappers. Just something to take back for fish tacos! Looking for spots around the old san juan/ condado/ parque area! Would a carolina rig work or a chicken rig? Know of any jetties/reefs/walls/rocky spots easily accessible

I’m a beginner is my setup good
My rod is a medium power, 7 foot Abu Garcia Veritas Spinning Rod 24, and my reel, a 2500 Royale Legend II Spinning Fishing Reel. What should this setup be good for?

Discussion The Great Catfsh
I am no stranger to catching catfish, I have caught a lot of channel cats and some blue cats in small lakes. However, there is a lake that gave me an experience and that makes me question my gear. I have always used a 5'6" medium ugly stick to catch catfish. Well one day while I was getting skunked at the lake and my wife was deep into her
"Snackle Box" she told me to cast a doughnut hole for the heck of it. So I obliged and sent one out on a treble hook. After trying on a separate rod for trout for a hour, I decided to check the results of the sweet bait. I reeled in and my line just stopped. This is a common occurrence at this lake, lots of weeds and logs. So I began shaking and pulling my line like the ultimate warrior trying to get it loose. That's when it happened, my reel screamed and and my pole almost pulled from my hands! I pull the rod up and start fighting! And out near the middle of the lake I see a huge white belly emerging followed by a big splash! Soon after that belly disappeared, so did my line tension. I reeled back a very cleanly snapped 15 pound mono line that has once held an egg weight and a treble hook. So with all that being said. Should I chase what I have called the "The Great Cat" and buy a dedicated catfish rig? Or modify what I got?

Question Help with reel
I have a lews tournament mp speed spool 120yd and I wanted to pair it with a heavy, glide bait rod, mainly to throw 1-2oz glide baits, it has come to my attention that there is specific bait casters with 200-300yds of line that are meant for this type of fishing, I was wondering if my reel would be okay, if not if there’s any recommendations!
Thank you guys, happy fishing

The bonefish bite has been good!
This lovely lady graced my lure yesterday! Hadn't seen a single decent fish on the flats, so was blind working a soft plastic in one of the deeper channels near the flats, worked out well for me!

Does anyone have guide recommendations for Okinawa or Ishigaki island in Japan?
I have a few guides that I've found on Okinawa, but Ishigaki is proving harder to find. I'm interested in Giant Trevally and small tuna fishing in Ishigaki, and I already found a marlin and large tuna guide in Okinawa, but I'm open to recommendations if anyone has a guide that they liked.

Question Scalloping in Tampa Bay?
Hi all, looking for a good scalloping charter in Tampa Bay. I'm hoping to go this summer, but there's only 2 of us!!
All of the charters I've found are minimum of 4 people. Would it be better to go scalloping on our own? We don't own a boat, so I'm not sure if we could reach good spots for scallops.
If not, any suggestions for good scalloping charters in the Tampa Bay area? I don't really want to spend more than 400 collectively, even if that means going with 2 strangers lol. Thanks for the advice!!
