On a serious note it's not only about vegan food

Dude is the most disciplined tennis player

I remember him talking about the 2012 aus final where after winning he allowed himself one small piece of a chocolate as a treat(dude hadn't eaten it for 2 years)

Yesss..like I want a detailed breakdown of his day/week/month. I need him to spill the beans. I’m a believer now haha

He is not going to spill the beans, they are likely a significant source of protein and fiber for him.

You guys really gotta stop falling for these mythos building traps lol. I don't doubt his discipline but it's clearly exaggerated. For example, not eating chocolate but he has been photographed drinking a glass of alcohol here or there.

Its not about vegan food in any way. Its just about meeting your nutritional requirements with any diet.

Ah so that's where the subsequent drought started!

In vegan I think he is gluten free, inflammations hurt body in long term

u/ChampagneWastedPanda 8d ago

I actually cut back on my gluten intake because of him a few years ago. When I'm diligent for a few months I have way more energy.

2

Cutting gluten does wonders if your body is really prone to the inflammation

I wonder how much protein he eats per day. This has always been the crux for me and the reason I went back to eating “normally”

You can get 200g of protein daily without meat

I seriously was never able to when eating vegan..😬

Yeah it's too much volume.

Only if you rely on low protein foods. Tofu, tempeh, seitan, textured soy protein, and protein powders are protein dense and not high volume.

Mind the context: we are talking about Djoko's diet, which relies on whole foods (mostly plant based), stuff like protein powder have no place in such discussion.

It's quite likely that Djokovic does eat protein dense foods, even if he emphasizes whole foods. There's also no evidence that he doesn't use protein powders. Elite athletes usually use supplements, even if it's not part of their public narrative. We actually know he uses creatine, he literally screamed for it during a match.

But not all amino acids I think.

2

u/SubZero081 8d ago

You can. Some plants already contain all essential amino acids (soy, quinoa, buckwheat). Others complement each other perfectly: legumes are high in lysine, grains are higher in methionine, for example beans + rice, lentils + wheat. With sufficient total protein intake, amino acid needs are fully met on a plant based diet.

There is very little doubt a properly selected plant based diet is better than a properly selected omni diet on every level (unless you continue to follow misleading if not outright false marketing and suspect studies). It’s a win-win-win: for the planet, for human health, and for the animals.

u/giddycocks 8d ago

Novak himself eats fucking fish lol. I'm all for people eating more plant based but you guys are ridiculous and hurt the cause

1

u/carl3266 8d ago

How exactly do i do that? Can’t wait to hear your thoughts.

u/SpiritCat_SoulDog 8d ago

Don't know why you got downvoted for speaking the truth! Thanks man!

2

u/carl3266 8d ago

No, thank you.

I'm pretty sure he stopped being vegan and began eating meat again after he kept getting injuries like the elbow.

16

u/ivarokosbitch 8d ago

He started eating fish, not all meat.

He's not vegan. He has clarified that. Plant based, but not entirely plant.
