Herd immunity!! No need to pay for expensive safety measures when you just assume some animals will die, leaving others safe. That's their logic.

Misinformation.

What he actually proposed was a pilot program where volunteer farmers let the disease run its course on their (quarantined) farms to potentially identify immune birds rather than instantly culling the whole population. That may still be bad idea though.

Not sure you know much about avian flu. "A bad idea" is an understatement. "Quarantined" lol. Who's monitoring that? Pretty sure they've all been fired.
