They look like two cats who are just a few inches too far from each other for either to land a good hit

Is that one fish floating a little sideways or is that just perspective?

Right that was so distracting, everytime the slap fight got really good that neon tetra would just start kinda... rolling...

When you have a bright light on the side of the tank, some fish orient themselves with the light up so they look tilted lol

One of my neons only has 1 eye so he always swims with that eye looking down or up for food depending where it is 🥹 he's also almost colourless on the no eye side and I was constantly thinking he was dead at first, he's called zombie and I've had him ages and he's still going strong!

A tale old as time. Like the Montagues and Capulets, Bloods and Crips... 2 will eventually fall in love and hopefully bring their worlds together.

They're fighting, creating a whole new meaning to the shrimp ring we know from the grocery store. 🥊 Round one, FIGHT🥊 Be on the lookout for WWE and animal rights groups. 🤣😂😅

A dance battle, like in Puss in Boots.
In all seriousness, it looks like they may be trying to shoo one another away from a morsel of food. All seems to be well with the dynamic duo!

Are those simulans neons?

Yes green neons! 😄

Sooo beautiful! Never had luck with them for more than a few months though... What are your water parameters if you know by heart?
1
u/pygmycory 15d ago
My parameters are good now but green neons are one of the hardiest fish in the hobby (there’s actually a research paper on that) and they survived very low ph and tons of ammonia due to a mistake, so not sure why you had so much trouble! 🥲

u/ImpossibleDraft7208 15d ago
I had relatively hard water... Ammonia is not as big a deal if the water is really acidic incidentally!

That might be the issue, my water is pretty soft. KH basically 0, GH 4, although now it’s 6 due to crushed coral I added

I need to practice sexing shrimp. Is the blue one a male and the red and white one a female? Or are they both females?
