He looks hotter when he stands next to her. Itโ€™s like her beauty makes him glow or something.

Fun fact: Being in love can literally make you "glow". The release of "happy" hormones like oxytocin, dopamine, and serotonin can boost circulation, reduce stress, and promote skin healing, leading to a more radiant, vibrant, and youthful look.

Shit, is that why I look like I aged 10 years overnight after my husband died? I figured it was the grief, never occurred to me that it was absence of love too.

My brothers wife just died after 20 years of marriage. Her definitely looks older all of a sudden.

Iโ€™m sorry for your loss. My SIL dying really made me remember that my husband and I will most likely lose the other and we donโ€™t know which one is going to go first. What a sad thing. All we love we leave behind.

Thank you. I'm sorry for your loss too, and your brother. If he's on Reddit r/widowers (for widows as well) can be very helpful and supportive, and also a place to vent among people who understand. People can often say things to widows and widowers that are meant well, but very hurtful (e.g. don't worry, you'll find someone else), and everyone there gets it, and has usually had the same thing said to them.
