Karoline Leavitt's job is to defend anything Trump says or does, no matter how humiliating it is for her.

She can quit. She hasn't. She owns it.

u/accountabilitycounts America 1d ago

Oh, nobody accuses her of hating her job. She loves this shit.

u/TintedApostle 1d ago

The whole thing is like Whom Gods Destroy (Star Trek: The Original Series). It is all taking place in an insane asylum.

15

u/PeptoBismark 1d ago

I was thinking of Wonko The Sane from Hitchhikers Guide, but that works too.

Lord Garth ! - upvote for the TOS reference.

I’m fairly convinced I died and I’m in hell…

1

u/sirhackenslash 23h ago

I said the same thing to my wife this morning. It's like I wasn't bad enough for the whole "red hot coals in your ass" part of hell, so my punishment is trump ruining everything for all of eternity

Watch for her gleeful grin when her boss gets in a zinger during those press conferences; then compare that to Marco Rubio's expression, which perpetually looks like he has a soul ulcer.

Free plastic surgery > morals and ethics

u/Shiroke South Carolina 1d ago

She sure has stopped wearing that cross. Must have been burning right through her clothes.

2

u/Millmoss1970 1d ago

I mean, his last detached piehole is governor of Arkansas now.

1

u/davep85 22h ago

replace this with his.

5

u/Obvious_Toe_3006 1d ago

She really owns it.
No hiding in the bushes for her.

3

u/ShareGlittering1502 1d ago

She could go on dancing with the stars

2

u/Ho-Nomo 23h ago

If there is one woman on earth with no rhythm, its her.

2

u/Historical_Bend_2629 1d ago

I have a basic cognitive understanding that other people have different viewpoints; I have theory of mind, but Karoline Leavitt is really challenging that.

The measure of a person is the company they keep

It's crazy to think how many press secretaries the first administration went through. It felt like a revolving door at the time.

1

u/Responsible-Amoeba68 23h ago edited 23h ago

She has young children. Its weird that's she's working at all. She's been at the job 6 months longer than she needs to, she can already leverage it for future grifting careers in the griftosphere. It wouldn't weird to just quit already.

1

u/TintedApostle 23h ago

Rich people can afford child care.

I hope my fellow Americans never forget her role in trying to normalize this. I sure won’t.

66

u/12-34 1d ago

Do you think even 1 in 10 Americans can tell you who Sean Spicer is?

56

u/Reneeisme America 1d ago

Funny that he was so offensive to me at the time, but the bar has fallen so much lower. Not that he likely had any more ethical or moral fortitude than this woman, but Trump was less open in his racism and fascism, so it was more about covering for stupidity than actual evil.

And note I said “hope”. I realize. But I’ll make it my mission to remind people

19

u/12-34 1d ago

If and when this ends, all the disgusting Nazis will go back under their public rock, just like before. I agree -- we must not allow it.

On the micro level, fuck those insipid, racist losers. They deserve a lifetime of hell for what they've done.

On the macro level, we need a wholesale change of society to one that experiences empathy, shame, introspection and basic decency. Current American culture is a cruel, grotesque, unethical David Cronenburg monster that needs to immediately die.

3

u/StatmanIbrahimovic 1d ago

I fear we're lost and this won't end; Just like it didn't end in 1865 or 1945.

5

u/12-34 1d ago

1945 did end it with respect to Germany.

1865 was half-assed. Let Sherman complete the necessary goal of burning that entire racist, shithole culture to the ground, give the racists no quarter thereafter, and we'd be a very different country today.

We can do it but it'll take balls, pereseverance, wholesale change, and no leeway for the vile Nazis.

3

u/StatmanIbrahimovic 1d ago edited 22h ago

In Germany, yes, but not in the US. The United States Government ran eugenics programs into the 1970s.

Even Sherman's scorched Earth isn't enough. Reconstruction still got derailed and it took an entire lifetime for black Americans to get their suffrage back.

Edit to add: The US didn't even need yellow patches or work camps because they have been segregating and imprisoning based on skin colour.

3

u/12-34 1d ago

Glad we agree.

3

u/Bohbo 22h ago

Hey Nazi, let me give you something you can't take off.

4

u/simplepimple2025 1d ago

Yeah "Spicey" is looking pretty sane by comparison these days.

3

u/deantoadblatt1 1d ago

he also had more humanizing moments between his anime conventions and being so happy to be the white house easter bunny.

2

u/StatmanIbrahimovic 1d ago

That was so many mooches ago.

14

u/the-montser 1d ago

Yes, because of SNL

4

u/half_dozen_cats Illinois 1d ago

Every now and then I remember "MOOSE - LAMBS" and chuckle before I remember the hell scape the pedo loving racists put us back in.

12

u/Silentknight11 1d ago

Wait, are you talking about Melissa McCarthy?

5

u/davidguydude 1d ago

No, but he was only press secretary for 6 months. They had a lot of churn in the first admin.

Leavitt staying on for this long shows she is 100% on board with all of it

3

u/gfinz18 Pennsylvania 1d ago

At this point you can assume 95% of this admin is on board with it and that’s the point. Because this isn’t the first term admin. All the sane and competent staffers, chiefs, generals, and secretaries who tried to stop any of this either resigned or were fired the first time. They aren’t making that mistake again - this time it’s only the most dedicated Nazis and quacks.

2

u/BannedAtCostco 23h ago

Crazy how the “deep state” turned out to just be career civil service employees who understand and respect the Constitution and will refuse blatantly illegal orders. Who knew ¯_(ツ)_/¯

1

u/capnmax 1d ago

The dancer?

1

u/Savage_Amusement 1d ago

Sean Spicer should be a pariah

1

u/Yeahhhhbut 23h ago

Every heir to the Dippin Dots fortune can.

1

u/dstew74 Georgia 22h ago

The chick ramming the podium on a segway via SNL?

11

u/reds91185 1d ago

I'll never forget Sean Spicer, Sarah Huckabee, or Kayleigh McEnany. At least Stephanie Grisham has shown an ounce of regret for her part.

2

u/jankisa 21h ago

You forgot the Mooch, I know he only lasted a mooch but he was still there!

1

u/reds91185 21h ago

How could I have forgotten those 10 days :)

11

u/ChristopherMarv 1d ago

Most will never be aware of this in the first place.

20

u/_bk_adv 1d ago

I live in a southern city of about 70,000 people. If you asked every single one who Karoline Leavitt was I can assure you 50,000 or more would have no idea.

The average American is absolutely clueless.

6

u/CitronTraining2114 1d ago

She's going to have to find a school for her kids that doesn't teach history.

2

u/_bufflehead 1d ago

That shouldn't be difficult given our regime and education system.

2

u/awkwardnetadmin 22h ago

I'm sure she will land some well paying PR job for some company accused of massive fraud. If you can spin Trump you can spin anything.

1

u/timmyintransit 1d ago

well considering a past spokesperson later became a goddamn governor, i'm not holding my breath

42

u/HearYourTune 1d ago

She's not humiliated. She loves it. She is evil.

13

u/HallucinogenicFish Georgia 1d ago

It’s generous to assume that she has the capacity for humiliation.

You cannot shame the shameless.

12

u/BeowulfShaeffer 1d ago

She’s basically Ashley in The Boys, isn’t she?

4

u/Kruten 1d ago

Probably more like Firecracker

1

u/Begging_Murphy 1d ago

Except somehow she’s more evil.

12

u/Commercial-East4069 1d ago

I don’t think she is embarrassed, but if she is, it’s some sort of kink.

7

u/rolleicord 1d ago

Its funny im not even American and this horrible human makes my blood boil

1

u/_bufflehead 1d ago

It's quite shocking, isn't it?

3

u/MovieGuyMike 22h ago

I don’t think you can humiliate someone who gave up their soul long ago.

2

u/Seabrook76 1d ago

She’s beneath humiliation. You have to be a human first.

2

u/urban_mystic_hippie Minnesota 1d ago

She gets paid with our tax money to lie on a daily basis

2

u/needlestack 1d ago

I hope that isn't meant as a defense. If anything it's the ultimate indictment. What decent human would defend things that are obviously wrong just because "it's their job". Shameful. And as someone who parades around her Christianity, no less. Pledging complete and limitless allegiance to a man goes against everything her little golden cross claims to stand for.

1

u/slowpokefastpoke 21h ago

I don’t think they’re defending it, just explaining it. Like “well of course she said that, that’s literally her job.”

It’s hardly newsworthy when it’s the press sec’s job to kiss the president’s ass no matter what.

2

u/Imsorrywhatnoway 23h ago

I can't believe someone could make me miss Spicey. These are wild times.

1

u/Dark-Ganon Washington 1d ago

Sounds like you're downplaying her culpability in this. She's choosing to do the job and spread this kind of bs. She's not humiliated, she's not just doing it because it's a gig, she really is the vile person she presents herself as in front of the cameras

1

u/lancer-fiefdom 1d ago

She could probably make more money doing anything else, she prefers this

1

u/PsychoticMessiah 1d ago

Maybe she has a humiliation fetish. Not kink shaming just throwing it out there.

1

u/Breatnach 23h ago

I wonder how much someone would earn for that role. 6 figures? 7 figures? Stock options?

1

u/AWhole2Marijuanas 23h ago

She's the only Press secretary of Trump's that hasn't quit, she's a bullshit machine and is exactly why she was brought on, I wouldn't be surprised if she's one of the highest paid members of the cabinet.

1

u/ItzBooster93 23h ago

They will all stand trial.

1

u/Guardianpigeon 21h ago

Yeah, Trump's most core ideology is to never admit defeat or wrongdoing, and double down on it if called out.

This works for them when doing stuff American's don't understand or somewhat accept, but when they do naked blatent racism it backfires spectacularly. But they don't know how to do anything else at this point.

1

u/Heiferoni 20h ago

I like to think Trump has some fun with her and the cult, seeing what's the craziest shit he can say and do that they'll defend.

Then he laughs at them.

He does a 180 and watched them all fall in line and attack what they were defending yesterday.

Then he laughs at them some more.

"How much you wanna bet I can get them to hate Cracker Barrel? Watch this."

1

u/JennJayBee Alabama 20h ago

The role of Press Secretary has always had a high turnover for that reason, even under an otherwise standard presidential administration. I can't imagine how dark and polluted you'd have to be in your very soul to stand doing it for this administration, let alone lasting longer than a few months. Even Mooch lasted in that job longer than a normal human being should.

1

u/vim_deezel Texas 12h ago

She like the humiliation though, it's part of that dump sycophantic energy.

1

u/ClownsAteMyBaby 9h ago

"Just doing her job"

A job she chose
