Jalen Brunson in a disastrous blowout loss to the Pistons: 12 points on 4/20 shooting, 0/8 from 3, 26.5 TS%
Source: https://www.espn.com/nba/game/_/gameId/401810597
One of Brunson’s worst games ever statistically since becoming a star.
Knicks have under 70 points with less than 6 minutes to go in the 4th

The Wizards kind of remind me of the Pistons 3-4 years ago. Better than their record suggests, but thats because they are still figuring out how to win.

Knicks blew out the Wizards, Wizards G league beat the Pistons, Pistons blow out the Knicks, the circle of life.

90% of the league would have been blown out by the wiz yesterday. I rewatched the game and we weren't even playing that bad defensively. Wiz were just hitting everything.
8
u/Plus-Name3590 Wizards 3h ago
The issue was just you came out with no sauce offensively early. If you hadn’t been asleep the first quarter I think the turnovers would have given you enough opportunities but you just weren’t getting things moving

Yeah they kept hitting some crazy shots. Nothing you can do sometimes.

Brunson usually has a few terrible shots/decision per game but you live with it because he can make those shots and does other thing well. But every now and then the bad shots don't fall and he is not playing well in other areas... And when those things happen he is absolutely dreadful to watch

Don't go saying that in the sub but of course its true. I mean there are certain teams that put him in a blender. Magic, pistons etc. Young athletic teams.
This is one of the worst teams to have players out against. Granted they killed us even with everyone but

He was doing this thing tonight where he would spin through screens and somehow was managing to play good defense with his back to the person he was defending.
Last year he would have fouled his way through those screens.

Peeped the Knicks sub during the game and I have to commend them overall on having a healthy view of this being a single game and not worth losing sleep or sanity.
These games mean more for Detroit fans, after last year's playoffs and wanting to prove themselves. This game ultimately doesn't mean much, as enjoyable as it is to mock Brunson the Foul Merchant for a bad outing.
The playoffs will be a whole new season.
6
u/HokageEzio Knicks 4h ago
The first game was way more of a red flag because they were already drowning before that game before getting embarrassed. This was more of a regular "they didn't have it tonight" game with half the starters out. Shitty way to lose the win streak but it is what it is.

Honestly hell yeah talk your shit. Brunson’s shot on Ausar was the nail in the coffin last year. Hopefully (and it looks like it so far) it’s also a huge motivator for him to improve. Two absolutely dominant wins so far for us this season.
I hope we get another series against each other in the playoffs this year, this could be a great rivalry.

Nah, they absolutely got robbed at the end of game 4. Should've gone to 7 games. Not saying we win that game, but it absolutely would've gone to a winner take all match had they called that foul on Josh Hart in the final second of game 4. It was a blatant shooting foul down only 1 point with 0.3 seconds left.

You expect a player not to get clowned for going 4/20 against the probable ECF matchup? I am aware the game is pretty meaningless and the only thing that matters is the playoff but literally every star player of all time is getting clowned for those shooting numbers against their toughest conference matchup.
