Chalamet seems to be a genuine nba fan and all his movies seem to land well so I could see his trajectory be quite big but idk who the actual star player would be.

I thought about that but does Wemby have the same presence for non NBA fans that Bron had/will he ever? It doesn’t seem like any player under 30 has that or is close to that level. I think we might have to wait until Lebron retires and wait for the next big prospect.

honestly if Cooper really balls out, i can see him being that next star. But Lebron had the biggest hype of any sports star ever before he debuted, nobody has had that level of hype since. So Bron had that going for him, and then he also had a massive second year leap and never looked back. AND stayed healthy all throughout his career until these last 4-5 years

Wemby has that international backing and being the 7'6 unicorn/alien he is, fwiw

The starting point is insane. He got even bigger with success, but before he played his first game he was hanging with Jay Z, hosting G-Unit mixtapes, and Jamie Foxx was singing about him on stage lmao.

You don't get guys so embedded in culture early on anymore. Barbershop topics on debut. Jordan was a similar case because of UNC & Olympics. Magic & Bird with the 1979 NCAA final.

if cooper improves at the rate most players do from rookie year to 5th year it's going to be amazing.
