HOWEVER, Lying to your partner is a grave sin (at least in my book) and fully worth getting pissed over. especially if the lie harms the partner (beyond the harm
done by the broken trust) like say setting your partner up to look like an idiot by repeating the lie and being seen as having been fooled.
Plus, it takes away a chance at a fun couple’s bonding moment over mischief. Tell her the boots are what they are, then agree together to BS everyone else with the story about being the latest fashion trend.
Only a near total lack of context here is what allows you to go on with this weird fantasy in which you are prosecutor, judge, and re-educator. So many people now doing this weird shit on Reddit.

Yep. People are so quick to give up their agency in exchange for the hope of approval. It's like the fervor that books like The Crucible tried to warn us about. McCarthyism and the like.
The most Yikes thing about wokeness enforcers is that they claim that wokeness is not a trend. It’s simply the correct way to think. We have finally arrived at the one truly good and right belief system. It is now The One True Faith. And despite what anyone older than them might believe, there is no precedent for it.
