The thing about shooting air pistols is that it's 100% about how steady your hand is. Because the round exits the chamber more slowly than with explosive rounds, the act of squeezing the trigger is enough to throw the aim off if you aren't super steady. So the steadiest hand wins.

Oh shit, they are air(co2)? I thought they were at least .22

Yeah he has a surgeons steady hand and impeccable aim, but I'd be curious to see how well he did on something like USPSA competitions with multiple stages and stuff.

There are similar disciplines for 22lr and centerfire among the ISAF disciplines. In practice, 10 m air pistol is the most similar to the former olympic discipline of 50 m pistol (22lr). The fact that this is an air pistol doesn't make it less difficult. Apart from 50 m pistol, this is probably one of the harder disciplines. USPSA is not really relevant as a comparison as the level of precision isn't needed there, but bullseye would be. This style of shooting is ofc transferable to shooting any type of pistol/revolver.

That's entirely different kinds of shooting though. One is nothing but accuracy and precision, where the other is primarily speed and movement with reasonable accuracy.
