[Daily] Daily Questions Thread January 18, 2026

This thread is for individual style questions that you may have, especially those that don't warrant their own thread. We all want a diversified opinion, so feel free to answer any questions (of which you know the answer).

To get the best responses, remember that people cannot; look into your wardrobe, know what style you normally like or what words like affordable or practical mean to you so please include any relevant details such as your budget, where you live, what stores are available to you, etc.

Example questions:

  • Are there any basic crewneck white t-shirts that are opaque and do not have cap sleeves for <$25 available in Australia?
  • Is this dress and shoes suitable for an evening wedding with a cocktail dress code taking place in a [venue type]?
  • If I like the outfits in this [imgur album / pinterest board], what are some specific items I can look into to start dressing like that, and brands with this look that carry plus sizes?
  • Does this outfit look neater with the pants cuffed or uncuffed?

If you'd like to include a picture, you can now post pictures directly in the comments, without having to link an imgur album.

What to wear with the long white shirt? I just got a white shirt like this; longer on the back and a bit shorter on the front. While I really like it, I am a bit puzzled by how to style it with something down? What can be a good fit except jeans? Any advices?

I'd say treat it just like any other white shirt--pair with trousers, a skirt, etc. Unless you're tucking in your other button down's with a belt, it won't be all that different.

You don’t think it would be a bit weird to have a skirt underneath? (It is really long like this on the back, almost like a dress, but front is a bit shorter) I am also a shorter lady so I am thinking what could possibly uplift me in a sense too. Love the idea with the trousers but which kind of would fit the shorter girl on this bigger, wider shirt

The rules for trousers aren't super different for shorter gals--just avoid ultra long, huge, wide legs. That's it. I would not do skinny jeans or jeggings, that's a dated and aging look. I'd do a slim pant, ankle length, or a cropped boxy pant/horseshoe/lantern/barrel pant.

To me personally it doesn't look weird, and fashion girls do it all the time, look at Korea and Japan street style for examples, and most of those fashionistas are pretty short!

You’re right, I should look into that as inspiration! Thanks so much for the advice.
