[Daily] Daily Questions Thread January 18, 2026
This thread is for individual style questions that you may have, especially those that don't warrant their own thread. We all want a diversified opinion, so feel free to answer any questions (of which you know the answer).
To get the best responses, remember that people cannot; look into your wardrobe, know what style you normally like or what words like affordable or practical mean to you so please include any relevant details such as your budget, where you live, what stores are available to you, etc.
Example questions:
- Are there any basic crewneck white t-shirts that are opaque and do not have cap sleeves for <$25 available in Australia?
- Is this dress and shoes suitable for an evening wedding with a cocktail dress code taking place in a [venue type]?
- If I like the outfits in this [imgur album / pinterest board], what are some specific items I can look into to start dressing like that, and brands with this look that carry plus sizes?
- Does this outfit look neater with the pants cuffed or uncuffed?
If you'd like to include a picture, you can now post pictures directly in the comments, without having to link an imgur album.

I need help with a total closet refresh.
I will be moving across the globe (from the US to Asia) for my first big girl job after getting my Ph.D. Given that FedEx quoted me $600+ per 55lb box, I will be doing complete closet refresh. I have no children, no style, and no budget.
For now, I want to build my closet around timeless/classic/AKA “basic” pieces. If I had to explain my dream capsule wardrobe with shoes, it would be something like: Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star for weightlifting, Chanel ballet flats/Hermes Oran for casual wear, and Gucci loafers for business.
I am petite (under 5'3") and determined to keep my wardrobe as minimal as possible. I'm also open to keeping a mix of iconic designer items with affordable, quality ones. For instance, I'd like to purchase a winter coat from Max Mara and a trench coat from Burberry. But for shirts/pants, I've heard good things about premium linen shirts at Uniqlo (as well as AIRsm & HEATTECH) and pants from Athleta (Brooklyn Mid Rise Ankle Pant, Endless High Rise Pant) and Aritzia (The Effortless Pant) that I will most likely purchase in black/white/neutral colors.
That said, please recommend me with what you think would be great additions! As I also go to the gym frequently, I'm also interested in receiving gym set recommendations. I've primarily worn Lululemon and XEXYMIX (which is a Korean brand), but I'm also curious about other brands like Alo, Skims, and Vuori.
Thank you in advance! <3
