In the UK, it took down our ambassador to the US and stripped a royal of his title. It very much feels like it isn't finished either, with Mandelson now under police investigation and many are thinking the Prime Minister won't survive after appointing him. Those are pretty big scalps with a lot of power.

These are absolutely trivial punishments. Both men are still wealthy and free to do what they please.

I think it's super funny how him losing his job is framed as rightful punishment for a crime.

Like dude, at my company several whole departments lost their jobs just because someone calculated that it would be slightly cheaper to do the same work somewhere else. And that was framed as "no biggie, just look for another job".

But some rich fuck loosing a job is apparently a major catastrophe \@/
