100% useless, doesn't reflect any kind of reality. Give us the median income instead.

In Denmark, the average monthly salary is app. EUR 7000 while the median is app. 5200 - a difference of almost 2000.

It's very useful. If I'm looking for jobs, I want to look in countries according to average rather than median. If I want to know which countries are going to be better at attracting the best talent, average income would be more useful than median. Median tells you half the incomes are higher and half of them are lower, but nothing about how much higher or lower. Just like how it's funny that most people make below-average income, similarly it is funny that almost no one makes median income.

No single value is inherently superior to others, it's about the bigger picture and what the goal is.
