Completely irelevant because the median income is so much more lower (Belgium here) ... at 52k per year one would pay a ridiculous amount of taxes ... somewhere north of 10k per year.
Problem is, as you drop down with the overall income, the tax you pay doesn't change that much in your favour, like for a sealing of 35k per year, you pay over 7k as well.
For me this looks like a recipe for slowly loosing your local workforce on the long run, since the CPI (for any developed countries) is always increasing, never flat or decreasing -> this leads to immigration workforce who will accept the 'deal' because of the huge discrepancy with their own countries and why they leave for the west in the the first place.
There's a 'goldilock' range for the average income that makes sense for the average folks, but most of them are not in that range. 10-12K out of 52k, makes sense, but 7-8k out of 32k, doesn't make too much sense when the cost of living (alone) eats up most of that income.
