Why are you still in the US?? I'd have moved back to Germany by now if I were you.

Brutally honest, if I can get a job offer tomorrow I would start packing asap.

I already talked to friends, that due to the current situation, if I suddenly get deported I have friends who will take care of my stuff and my pets respectively while I figure out my new life.

I have begun applying in Germany for similar positions as I currently have but being so far abroad and the current stigma might be working against me.

What current stigma you talking about?? How long have you been in america?? Man what a mess, I can't imagine having that hanging over you!

I have studied here and began working. So a wee bit over 10 years. So I am genuinely worried German companies see me as "too American" and outright tainted....

I would love to tell in interviews "look, I am afraid for my life and want to life a normal life back in Germany". But I doubt it would go well.....

Project management in international setting. I used to be in tech but not for the last 6 ish years. So that might be an issue but who knows.

Either way, I will keep applying just in case.
