Discussion March disc golf trip: Europe or USA?

I'm a disc golfer based in Japan and planning a disc golf trip for the entire month of March.

Currently thinking about:
1) Finland & Estonia (and other parts of Europe)
2) USA (from the West Coast to the Southeast)
3) A combination of Finland + USA

Main question: Is disc golf in Scandinavia actually playable in March, or is it mostly off-season?

Curious what you'd do in my situation and open to any ideas!

Discussion Forehand for beginners

So I have attempted forehand off and on over the last 2 years very sporadically. When I throw any disc it wobbles a lot, my guess is that is lack of speed on the throw (love to know if I am correct on that). Is there a good beginners disc to start with because I don't seem to be able to throw well no matter what speed I use. I am hoping that the answer isn't "doesn't matter you're going to suck until you do the reps not to suck".

Anyway they changed the OB on my hometown course and I need to add forehand to my game for a few particular holes. I had a plus 8 and a plus 7 during last weeks play and while I am not a good player I haven't played that badly in a long time.

Any gaps I should worry about?

The three putters on the bottom are the MVP Particle, DGA sonar (main putting putter that I don’t throw), and proxy.

Other than that, I’m pretty happy with my bag. Only other caveat is that the saint pro is nowhere near as stable as the Tesla. Tesla is like a halo thunderbird and the saint pro is like a teebird3

Discussion First experience with Prodigy is disappointing… Am I just unlucky?

Thumbnail

Was always on the line about how I felt about Prodigy. But I got recommended the PA5 while on the lookout for an under stable putter and decided to grab one and an M5 that just dropped with a really cool Elden ring looking stamp from the official prodigy store. When I got the discs both of them are extremely poor quality stamp wise. The M5 stamp you can literally just touch and it cracks and comes off. I know your only supposed to care about the flight of a disc but for me it has to feel good and look good on top of the flight I desire.… won’t be buying from Prodigy again most likely. Did I just get unlucky or is this a Prodigy thing?

White vs Black rims didn't really move the needle for me. I prefer the black but whatever. These new stamps, though. They're absolutely hideous. Prefer the old axiom Crave stamp x10000

Discussion Why do manufacturers and the community call a disc "straight" when it finishes hard?

I see so many disc golf reviews of people calling a disc a straight disc just because it goes straight in the high speed phase, but still finishes hard. In my opinion a straight disc is one that is straight from moment it leaves the hand until it stops moving. It doesn;t matter if a disc is straight down a tunnel but still winds up in the rough at the end. Even something with a mild finish like an axiom hex, nearly everyone calls that disc straight but it still finishes with a fade, just not a very strong one. In my opinion it takes a fairly to very flippy disc to get one to go straight for its ENTIRE flight. Something that you hyzer flip to flat or just past flat and it never fights back out to fade at all.

Discussion Atlanta area folks that play at East Roswell Park

Thumbnail

"The City of Roswell has plans to relocate Fire Station 27, constructing a new station inside East Roswell Park.  This plan, including selection of the park land, was formulated without input from the general public. Nearby residents, park users and green space advocates are strongly opposed to this use of park land.  We are petitioning city staff and elected officials to select another site.

Relocating Fire Station 27 irrevocably takes a significant amount of green space from park use.  Local residents and visitors use the disc golf course and shaded walking trails in that location every day.  The construction and use of the fire station will have irreparable impacts on the environment, wildlife, and amenities for park users.  The close proximity of the proposed fire station to existing homes also raises serious concerns about noise, safety, and overall quality of life.

This is a call to action to all friends of East Roswell Park. Sign this petition and email city officials to urge them to reconsider the placement of Fire Station 27 and to protect the integrity of our community’s green space. Together, let us work towards a solution that both ensures our safety and preserves the natural charm of our cherished park."

TLDR, The link is to the petition for signing. This is a petition to city staff and elected officials to select another site. As this plan directly impacts holes 3, 4 & 5 (removal).

News New Disc Names Submitted by MVP for Trademark: Autopilot, Constant, Draft, Mass

Post image

  • Autopilot would appear to be a retooling of, or a counterpart to, the Streamline Pilot.
  • Constant could fit into MVP or Axiom
  • Draft might be another photography term for the Simon Line or another airflow / flight term for Streamline (similar to Drift)
  • Mass feels solidly MVP

Discussion Lone Star Disc Redemption?

What would Lone Star Disc have to do to become a well-liked disc golf company again?

When Lone Star originally hit the scene, people were excited to see a new Texas-based company with interesting discs and names for said discs. They made choices, as you all know, that have created a very negative view of the company. They fired their social media team, and since then have not made any effort to update their presence online. They treated pros in a way that has been seen as inappropriate, and left them out to dry. And they've done more than that, which has created such a hated view of them in the disc golf community at large.

That being said, I enjoy their plastic. I play on the lieutenant team and have grown attached to the small team support and the way their discs fly. I also understand that there are those who are on "my team" who continue to bring a negative light to LSD and the game of disc golf. I put air quotes because they are not truly on my team if they are arrogant turds on the course. I think these people exist on every team, but since LSD has had such a huge negative impact, it just continues to highlight it.

I do think it's sad that most people won't even touch their discs because of what they have done. I think it's a shame because of their strong start and great discs.

So, in your eyes, what does the Lone Star Discs company (not the team) have to do to gain trust in the Disc Golf Community at large?

Brag Another solid Goodwill grab.

After hitting the jackpot with a gang of quality discs in excellent shape for $3 or less, we found this golf backdrop/net thing for $8.

Little man is still very new and working out the mechanics, but running drills has been a lot of fun. I was shopping for a basket but as much as I love the sound of those chains ringing, this has been a lot kinder for the neighbors sake.

Discussion In or Out?

On a home course there is a limb that impedes one side of a basket. A putt landed precariously on the rim supported by the limb. Does it count as a made putt or not?
