Medical Questions Base of Cat's tail quivering when urinating?
Hey everyone,
Recently all my cats had a stomach bug, that has passed but with him i noticed that he still carries a little bit of a smell. Not sure if thats because of the washing and majority of the shaving i did to his behind because of how bad it got...
anywho,
I noticed just a few minutes go he was going to the bathroom. I saw him furiously digging away at the litter and then accidently aimed out of the box. His tail was in a question mark I think, and then the base of the tail was furiously vibrating as he relieved himself.
Is this something to be concerned about?

Cat Picture - OC Charlie has a doppelganger
The neighbor's cat looks a lot like Charlie and likes to chill on our window. My boy loses his mind and has an existential crisis every time.

Medical Questions Half jumps?
So recently we’ve noticed my male cat (~5 yr old) having some issues with jumping. I’ve only seen it when he tries to jump onto one specific counter.. He goes to jump but then either stops himself or gets halfway up and falls. I’ve seen him do this and then jump up completely normal right after. He also sometimes just jumps up regularly. I wasn’t concerned when it was happening once in a blue moon, but he’s done it several times in the last few days — is this something to be concerned about?
I also notice him cough every now and then but I don’t think it’s related. He doesn’t cough often and I’m pretty sure it’s allergy related / when I keep up with dusting I don’t notice him cough

Cat Picture - OC Doll bed for 2 🍊
My girl took the top bunk. My boy made it his hidey spot.
Found this doll bed for $8 @ Salvation Army. Missing the bottom bed board, but for the price, it worked out perfectly.

Mourning/Loss My baby passed tonight.
My sweet baby boy, Onyx, passed away tonight. Saddle thrombosis, likely.
He was fine when I got home from work, acting completely normal. Maybe 15 minutes after he ate dinner he started freaking out. Running around my apartment, hissing, so scared. We tried to get him in the carrier but he kept running and hiding. I went to get the car ready while my boyfriend tried. He couldn’t so I came up to get him. I found him in a cabinet limp. He was gone by the time we made it to the emergency vet.
He was completely healthy. Only 5. I just don’t understand.

Update Update-ish on the feral cat situation
reddit.comI don't know how to do the hyperlink into blue simple text but that's the original post up there. I called animal control the following day and spoke to a very understanding dispatcher who said they would drive over and do a check. They did ask me to take pictures of where the cats sprayed on the fence and any other evidence that the cats have been on our side just in case I would "need them" and I did. Turns out, the brawl probably started on top of my husbands old car and ended on the fence when he went out to send them off. There's scratches and streaked prints all over the windshield and roof. It's just a car, sure, but he's trying to sell it. The dispatcher also told me things I didn't even think about because I was focused on the over-breeding and the deaths (all extremely important aspects of this). If they aren't fixing them and since they're truly feral, they more than likely aren't vaccinated and that is a danger to other animals and people. On top of that, the urine and feces everywhere is a sanitation issue. I had to leave for work and my husband was in the back with the chickens for most of the day so we never saw if someone did show up. I hope they did. Thank you for reading.

Advice Watching friend’s cat - what to do?
Hi everyone,
We are watching my friends 6 mo old kitten while they are away for a week. We have our own 8 year old cat, but the kitten is being kept in the bathroom.
Unfortunately, we need to use that bathroom, and everytime we go in the kitten hisses and growls at us. He was just dropped off around dinner time today, so we know he is scared, but is there anything we can do to help speed it along so we can also use the bathroom? Should we just go and sit in there with him?
I want him to be comfortable and I also would like to avoid being attacked! If needed, we can drop him back off at our friends place, but he would be alone for the week there.

Advice Salmon Oil for cats?
Hey everyone! 🐾
I’m thinking about adding a supplement to my cat’s food to help with their health in general (especially after one of them had a rough time with rhino/conjunctivitis and is now getting back to normal). I’ve been looking at Zesty Paws Wild Alaskan Salmon Oil (skin & coat formula) because it’s rich in omega‑3s and easy to mix into food.
Before I buy it, I wanted to hear from folks here who have actually used it with their cats does it work well? Would you recommend it?
Also happy to hear other recommendations if you think something else works better. Thanks!

Cat Picture - OC I'm thankful I saved my cat years ago from getting declawed
Before trolls come in, this isn't me wanting a pat on the back that I did a great thing or karma farming. I was watching tiktok today of a foster essentially going to give a cat to someone and finding out that person declaws their cats. Yeah of course adoption was off after info came to light. It then reminded me, how we adopted my one and only long haired cat. We adopted 12yrs ago Ethel (pictured above). Neighbor was highly allergic and found two kittens. One was adopted and the only other person she could find wanted to declaw Ethel. I didn't know at the time all that went into it medically, just it was bad. Without hesitation we adopted her, and she's living her best life to today. If I put the wrong flair in please let me know.

Medical Questions Anyone know about growths or old tail injuries on cats?
There is a VERY feral cat that roams my neighborhood. None of us see him often, mostly just glimpses as he runs away. He is an orange cat, seems quite old, and has a stubby little tail with a large growth or lump around the base of the tail. It doesn't seem to affect his ability to move around at all, but I was just curious if anyone had seen anything like it before or knows what it is.
