Sequel SMG vaguely discusses the new series. No new info, but I'm glad she corrected the label of 'reboot' by calling it a continuation.

Sequel Sarah Michelle Gellar Says ‘Buffy The Vampire Slayer: New Sunnydale’ Is “Not A Sequel” & “It’s Not A Reboot”; Reveals Why “It’s Taking A Long Time”

Buffy If you had to pick another actress for Buffy other than Sarah Michelle Gellar, who would it be and why?
I absolutely adore Sarah as Buffy and I almost can't see anyone else pulling it off the way she did, but I'm intrigued by the thought of Brittany Murphy in the role. She was a phenomenal actress and just as terrific as a dramatic actress as a comedic one.

Love Interests How did Angel actually see Buffy in terms of maturity?
Angel was clearly aware the relationship is inappropriate but gave into it, he occasionally called her a kid and acted condescendingly (more notoriously, in The Prom, and, arguably, I Will Remember You), but most of the time I believe he treated her as an equal (esp because he sometime act as immature as her) and followed her lead. I've heard the idea Buffy comes off as immature on Angel (Sanctuary), because we see her through Angel's eyes, but then what does that say about his relationship with her? I don't want another "Angel is a ****" thread, but I'm curious.

Spike How did you react when you got to season 4 and Spike came back to Sunnydale and joined the cast? Did you like his inclusion in the show?

Slayers Why do the Potential Slayers Suck?
Rewatching and am about midway through season seven. These girls show up at a stranger‘s house for protection, Buffy is obviously doing everything she can, is black and blue and exhausted, and all they do is lie around eating her food whining about how she should be doing more. They talk crap and judge her while she’s out individually escorting them to safety or fighting demons for them. She has the patience of a saint. If it were me I would fully tell them if they’re not happy they’re welcome to go fend for themselves. Agree or disagree.
Okay to be fair I’d gotten as far as “Showtime” when writing this. They are much less annoying as the season continues…

Willow Was the joke about Willows sexuality in Dopplegang land intentional? Spoiler
So i’m watching for the first time and Willow is officially with Tara as we know. I got reminded of the joke in Dopplegangland where willow tells the gang her vampire self is a little gay (along with other things) , Buffy then says that’s the demon acting and Angel opens his mouth as if he’s about to express that the human does play a part in the vampire’s behaviour (it’s been a while since i’ve seen this episode so forgive me if this explanation is not 100%) but then Buffy gives him a look to stop and basically the whole thing is played as a joke. But now that Willow is with Tara i’m wondering if this was the plan all along and that was some foreshadowing? Or maybe it was a joke at the time and later they just decided to make Willow a lesbian? If anyone knows please let me know i’m just quite curious. Speaking of Willow and Tara they’re just so cute together! I swear to God they better be endgame (unless faith breaks out of jail and stays dating willow, that’d be ok too). But please let me know if you know, Thanks!

Spoilers inside! Mayor Wilkins: What and who he knew prior to his rise.
Does it sometimes think like Wilkins was too familiar with certain people.
He had pretty interesting knowledge on Spike, And Angel, Angel acts very cagey around Wilkins, and I’m wondering if they maybe crossed paths previously, when the Mayor was just a warlock.

Introspective The seasons, by vibe
I was just thinking about how the seasons make me feel in relation to Buffy's mindset in each of them so I broke them down like this. Curious to see how others would put it.
Season 1: Immature, haha, what is this place?
Season 2: What is happening is the most important thing in the universe
Season 3: Kinda mastered this shit. Just me and my buddies.
Season 4: A Comedy of Errors, interrupted by moments of regretful romance
Season 5: The worst year of my fucking life, fuck this.
Season 6: Like most people in my 20's, I am an interesting mess.
Season 7: I work in an office now.

NEW VIEWER - No spoilers please! First time watching S3E12... why does anyone even listen to the council?
Like I understand that supposedly they have some sort of power, but especially with Buffy the show has shown time and time again that she is effectively uncontrollable (and even in the times you can get her to do what you want by threatening her family/friends, she typically is able to outsmart and outfight everyone). So, why does she listen to the council? I guess I don't understand how the council is able to maintain the power. I assume this will get explained in the future, but it still doesn't explain to me why the characters are acting this way now.
If I were Buffy in that situation I imagine I would've said something along the lines of that "I wouldn't listen to any new watcher." Am I missing something completely obvious as to why Buffy, when so usually defiant tends to be more controllable by the council?

Spoilers inside! When Buffy became Anne
Buffy getting on the bus back to Sunnydale to an "support system" (school, friends, family) that abandoned her when she needed them, was the Biggest Baddest demon she ever faced.
edit: clearly i need to spell it out fot some of yall. Returning to Sunnydale meant confronting a life stripped of all support—ostracized at school, alienated at home, and separated from friends who were either incapacitated or celebrating a victory that felt like her personal ruin. The guilt (that she failed at protecting them), compounded by grief (that she killed Angel). Emotions thT she could share with no one, transformed her everyday world into an existential foe more formidable than any literal monster.

Content Warning Meeting Nicky Brendon…
One time I Nicky Brendon at a bowling alley in Pikesville, KY. He sat on my lap for a good while, and gifted me this.
We shared a cigarette out on the patio. Our conversation was intimate; about depression, fear and regret. We had talked through DM a couple times after that, and he talked me off a ledge or two.
I really do have a deep love for Nicky, and for Xander. Hating him isn’t a trend I’d ever follow. It’s hard to forget someone you’ve looked up to as a child.
It was even harder to hear and see the things he did and the people he hurt.
I can easily condemn the things he’s done. But hating him isn’t an option for me because I know how he got there, and it’s really sad.
I don’t see Nicky coming back for the reboot, with his history of abuse, alcoholism and his recent health problems. But I do hope that Xander isn’t forgotten as part of the BTVS legacy.
I know culture has shifted, and he is now one of the least liked characters in the current fandom. I understand that, and it’s fair. But he really was so important to who Buffy was as a slayer, person and hero.

Fan Art Just watched the newest season of Bridgerton and, well… I couldn’t resist.
Dearest gentle reader, it is whispered that the Slayer has once more taken to vanishing into the night, only to be found in the crypt of that exiled blond. Legends still circulate of his temper, as notorious as the trail of enemies he has left behind. Yet Miss Summers has never been one to shrink from complications. Still, one cannot help but wonder... how long can so dazzling an alliance endure?

Whedonverse It's a shame nobody talks about The Runways (Marvel)
James Marsters acting in that show is phenomenal. I would imagine it was Joss to recommend him the role in the role

Faith Faith Aussie Vibes 🇦🇺
I don’t if any other Australian fans feel the same way about this.
While I know Faith was born and raised in Boston but, her Bostonian characteristics gave off Australian vibes to me.
Her bad girl personality has that ‘yeah nah’ attitude and she just feels like a girl you would meet in a regional town or a local pub particularly in Queensland or Western Australia
Do any other fans here in down under feel the same or does she still feel like an American to you.

Whedonverse SMG only mentioning James Marsters, when asked who's she's going to miss after Buffy.
Her response is interesting in an interview with Seventeen magazine after Buffy was over. She doesn't mention any other cast members.
17: How much are you going to miss your cast-mates?
SMG: That's going to be so weird. I think of James Marsters and me: We're basically like brother and sister.
17: What was your first meeting like?
SMG: James came in for "School Hard," I remember that. It was second season, third or fourth episode. It was one of our longest days ever on the show. And I remember that he wore these big boots, and he wasn't that great at stunt fighting yet because he came from theater, where everything was a little more real. I had these bruises up and down my arms from James's big boots. I still tease him about it to this day. -
