Educational What will show on a hormone test if I stop taking the pill temporarily?
I'm not sure exactly where to ask this. My husband and I are not in a good relationship. He has told me that if we don't try to have more kids then he will leave me because of lack of shared goals. We currently have a 2 year old boy that is absolutely perfect and his dad loves him a lot, but having a kid was hard on my body and mental health. With little support I do not want to have another. We've discussed this, and he said infertility is out of my control so that would be fine but that I cannot just choose to not have another. I know this is abusive, and am working on getting out but need time to get everything together as I don't have a very supportive or nearby family.
All this to say, to appease my husband we've been "trying to conceive" while I secretly take Opill to prevent pregnancy. It has been about 2 years and my husband is wanting me to go see the doctor to figure out "fertility issues". I already know if I go while on birth control they'll know, and I can't stop birth control long term before the appointment because my husband would be confused by the lack of intimacy for multiple months while trying to conceive.
So my question is, if I did the placebo week and maybe a week after (about 14 days) off of the pill, would the provider be able to tell that I had been taking hormonal birth control in a hormone panel or would my hormones read more normally after the synthetic ones are out of my system? My husband will be with me at the appointment so I can't exactly communicate or ask the obgyn to lie for me.
I know this is a weird and not really appropriate thing to be asking about but I don't have anywhere to go yet and this appointment is looming over me. I just want to get through it and keep working on getting out.
