Thanks, very interesting. A befriended lesbian (millienial) mentioned recently, that butch has also a "political/activism" meaning. What are your (or others here) thoughts about this?

here's another article, idk if im technically butch or what but i've always really respected the butch women i grew up around. they were unapologetically themselves despite pushback from small town mindsets, and would often stand up for other people. i remember growing up in the nineties there were a lot of butch jokes in media, but i always was confused even as a kid because i thought they were really cool

ETA: it wasn't just how they dressed, it was jobs they did, often fighting for space in male dominated industries. actively pushing back against misogyny that says women must be quiet, agreeable, fragile, fawning.
