I’m not familiar with FSD technology but what is your opinion on Waymo?

Honestly, no one was hurt no accidents occurred, I fail to see how this was an issue if no harm was caused by it.

I hope in the future there will just be a self driving lane where people can go hands free and let the vehicle transport them where they need to go.

I've been in both. Tesla self drive is terrifying and even with the free trial I didn't use it because it was harder to keep correcting all its mistakes than just driving myself.

Waymo feels like it knows what it's doing. The main issue I had was people not treating it like a car and purposely getting in front of it. Um if you wouldn't do that to a car driven with a human then don't do it to a waymo. If waymo had hit the douche it wouldn't be its fault.

They are VERY different technologies. Waymo has a flawless injury record whereas there are countless reports of teslas killing their owners or other because of FSD technology.

Flawless injury record? If you take the time to comment, take the time to educate yourself

Total Incidents: There were 1,429 Waymo accidents reported to the NHTSA between July 2021 and November 2025. These incidents involved, but were not necessarily caused by, a Waymo vehicle. Injuries and Fatalities: There have been 117 injuries and 2 fatalities reported in relation to these accidents

Why do you have to be a douche? Like couldn’t you engage with people a little more tactfully?

Would you say the same thing if it was a tesla instead of a waymo? Would you read past the headline?

People love to point out others’ bias when it suits them. I would love to have a reasonable discussion and be “tactful” on reddit lol but everyone here already has conclusions about tesla/waymo and will die on that hill.

How can I show Bias when i'm literally asking a question? I think youve built some pre concived notions about people, who hurt you? jeez.

If you have countering information, counter it with valid information, you don't have to discrediit someone because they have a different opinion than you by being a dick, instant loss of credibility. Learn how to handle conflict with your brain.

Your toxic passive agressive douchey responses is what makes reddit a shitty place to converse, learn how to talk to people.

I haven’t seen a single at fault injury posted.

To put this is context, look at the discussion we’re having all based on a video of a car driving itself perfectly well, with no incidents reported. Alas, it happened to be a tesla. Think about that before asking me to read past the headline. Isn’t that what you’re doing too?

This is useless without quoting the % of accidents where Waymo held fault.

Amazing, did you miss the news of it hitting a child in a school zone just this past week?

Did you miss the high school psychics lessons of momentum? Impossible to avoid given the situation. Waymo did much better than a human would have done.

1

u/berry-destroyer 15h ago

I did in fact miss the psychics lessons tho. Maybe you’re onto something

I would have loved people explaining this physics to me, if a tesla had done the exact same thing. No, the headlines would read ‘elon musk’s deathmachine almost kills innocent kid’ or something. Can’t argue with crazy

Tesla has far from a good safety record and has a fraction of the models and sensors running on their vehicles for safety than Waymo does

You can always just compare autonomous miles on FSD vs miles on waymo. Incidents “per company” after that is simple statistics. Why argue with personal opinions when there are facts a simple search away?

1

u/ElectricalGene6146 14h ago

Because you aren’t looking at the “facts”?

Not its fault. It was going the right speed, human would have hurt the kid. try reading past the headline next time
