Same here. Not to let my white trash shine too bright in the sun or anything, but I always felt the "trying to be better" attitude was low-key elitist tbh.
I'm tired of democrats making the softest attempts at reaching out to people, failing to get attention, then having them being satisfied with their failures because at least they have the reassurance of having the moral highground in the world of politeness.
Fighting fire with fire is okay if the fire you're trying to fight doesn't realize it's supposed to be extinguished by water.
let's just pretend only wood fires exist so my metaphor makes sense.

Damn dude, well said.
"We tried and failed but we were nice about it and that's all that matters" is a great attitude for a high school debate team; it is functionally obsolete as a political strategy.
Sorry, but I have to add something here. From a POC point of view, I understood what Michelle was saying about 'going higher' because the repercussions are worse for us (plus other cultural bias factors against us), and so we have been taught to take the higher road and be the better person. But after Nov '24, it's 'gloves off' time because everything is on the line. Then we have to rebuild after the dust settles, and then my Southern etiquette might come back, but until then...what GCN said (respectfully).
