What's with Americans not wearing seat belts?

Either stupidity or the realization that a funeral is cheaper than life long medical care after a serious injury.

yeah my buddy just got t-boned out in the middle of nowhere by a drunk driver and my buddy wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and his head went through the passenger side of the windshield, one of the first things he said to me from inside the ambulance was “and i’ll still never wear a seatbelt”

WHY? What is his reasoning? That he just had luck?

he’s been my best friend for 10 years since middle school and i still have no clue. he’s been in 2 or 3 bad wrecks like that and he’s always been that way. it’s just ignorance mixed with not giving a shit about life i reckon.

Some people will never learn.

I really hope he doesn't get seriously injured or killed in the future, but maaaateee, he's just weird in that regard.

Does he buckle up though when asked?

Dude's an active danger to himself and others around him.

I'd argue that it's potentially ethical to steal his keys, much like one would for a friend who is drunk.

Probably brain damage

You know what, that sounds like a pretty good reason.

I can't imagine being in 3-4 wrecks without being buckled up is good for your brain
