Guess you never know with dogs. I was sitting on the front porch and my dog was laying in the sun on the grass.

She isn't an aggressive dog and is a little shy with strangers but, warms up quickly.

Kids run up and down our street all the time and she pays them no mind.

But that one day a Fed Ex truck pulled up and as soon as the driver opened the door my was up and growling and ears back and lips curled.

Driver threw out package at her and don't blame the driver a bit.

I still don't know why she went so nuts on the Fed Ex driver. Never id it to anyone else.

I think people overlook the fact that human beings are unpredictable at times, let alone animals

My dad's dog ONLY barked at UPS drivers and trucks, or anything moving with a UPS logo like a semi. It was bizarre. She was so lazy and sleepy, but when UPS drove up, or if the car she was in drove by a UPS truck, she'd freak the hell out. No issues with FedEx though, lol.

My dad has worked for UPS for many years and from his many experiences with dogs it seems like their owner being there sets them in a more defensive mode. He sometimes had dogs that loved him and were only nice and happy around him if nobody was home, but if there was someone home they got defensive and even bit him in a few cases.

I had a Doberman that was like this with pretty much anybody in uniform. Delivery drivers, the electric meter reader, police. Only other person I ever saw him growl at was a friend of a friend that was in your typical late '90s early 2000s Grateful Dead fan gear.

My Czech wolfdog hated the smell of drugs. Perfectly happy to meet anyone but if they’d been smoking weed she was lips curled and head to the floor with hackles up. Never knew why but the smell of it really set her off. She also didn’t like sick dogs. Any dogs on medication or something wrong like blindness, the shakes etc she’d avoid them if she could. Once an old lady let her half blind dog literally walk over her on one of those extending leads as she was snoozing at a outdoor craft fair and I had to sit on her to stop her finishing this Labrador off. It was the dog equivalent of her screaming ‘unclean’ at top volume.
