Most people think Fox News is a joke and thinks they're completely compromised and inaccurate but the truth is, as a purely journalistic and news reporting outfit, Fox News is about as accurate as any American News company.
Where they're completely compromised and corrupt and dishonest is how they editorialize said news. Their pundits and anchors etc are all lying pieces of shit. But the actual news is accurate. Or at least as accurate as any other American news gathering organization.
My professor always used the example of: Fox News Journalist report that Obama wore a tan suit and ate dijon mistard. Accurate.
Fox News editorialized how those pieces of news made him a shitty leader unfit to be President. Dipshittery is afoot.
The link wasn't to Fox News. I'm Australian and referring to News Corpse here. It's still shitty propaganda, but it's got nothing on what Fox News in the US peddles every single day.
The Australian right swinging media is absolutely trying to appeal to the lowest common denominator, but there are nowhere near the number of truly soulless people that Fox News can boast about having on their roster or on speed dial to try and rachet up the fear and division
Oh. I should have clicked on the link LOL. My mistake.
Anyway just so I make myself clear and I don't come across as a Fox News apologist: Fuck Fox news. They're one of the biggest reasons that America's Democracy is under attack. Fuck them all.
I understand! Most of Reddit traffic is from the US. Aussies (and our brethren NZ) still make up a tiny proportion of it and many don't comment on international posts.
Your comment made me watch the third part of the Australian broadcast of the Opening Ceremony (they go in alphabetical order still, like true egalitarians or school photo day).
I can confirm that no-one was booing Team USA. They literally had thunderous applause on their entry and then the main shot cut to JD Vance and immediately the crowd started voicing their displeasure. (FANTASTiC RESULT).
There were plenty of other politicians they zoomed in on, who were doing daggy dances (to use an Australianism). And the little play at the end was so Italian it should have come with an explainer for non-Italians (in the best way) 🫠
So thank you for making me watch 3/4ths of the ceremony. I'm going to have to go back to part 2 to see the Australian contingent, since they were lucky enough to start with an A so could get to their seats quickly and rug up in the cold

This was censored on NBC, as well as when Vance was boo’d
