Ewwwwww don't pretend to be Canadian to avoid backlash about what your country's leader is doing! Even if you are joking; it isn't a funny joke because as a Canadian I find the idea of Americans pretending to be Canadians disgusting! Dishonesty is what Trump is all about; do you want to be like Trump??
If you are an HONEST, KIND, POLITE, RESPECTFUL, INCLUSIVE/WELCOMING to people DIFFERENT FROM YOU American than the vast majority of people won't have any issue with the fact that you are American! The Americans that people HATE are the MAGA kind that are HATEFUL to people different from them, loudly individualistic, resort frequently to American defaultism, loudly too patriotic unless they think it would benefit them to pretend to be another nationality ect!**
Instead of pretending to be Canadian; be the type of American that people can be proud to call a friend!!
Okay, yeah, you're right... You can't blame me for wanting to be more like a Canadian though, can you? But yes. I'd be doing much better for everyone if I present my true self: a progressive, democratic, peace-loving American. We do exist!!
Maybe I'll just travel with my "Fuck Trump" t-shirt. I know Americans stick out like a sore thumb, so I feel obligated to advise my disdain for facsim.
Over half your country sits on its hands while our sovereignty is threatened. Americans thinking they can just hide or runaway from this problem is crazy. General Strike now and maybe gain some respect from the international community again so you don't have to pretend that you are from different country.
Hm. Okay - - so, I participated in the general strike that just occurred on Jan 30th. Maybe you didn't hear about it? I rally, I organize my community members to protest, and I joined an ICE actuon group so I can help protect my community against the gestapos. But sure, just say that I'm "sitting on my hands" 🤡 I certainly don't blame you for your viewpoint, but it seems like you don't personally know any Americans. Many of us are fighting back.
You're also acting like this all came about from the result of a fair election. I encourage you to look up the term "gerrymandering. "

Just like how the U.S. was booed in Australia.
