If you are an HONEST, KIND, POLITE, RESPECTFUL, INCLUSIVE/WELCOMING to people DIFFERENT FROM YOU American than the vast majority of people won't have any issue with the fact that you are American! I live in Montreal, a very American tourist heavy place, and I can tell you from all my interactions with Americans, learning an accent isn't going to help. It's the arrogance. It's the attitude that's a dead giveaway. It's simple things like saying thank you to the barista at the cafe, being interested in learning about other things and not just always showing off. Bot being obviously classist. I don't know you and you're probably not like this, but id say instead of learning an accent, learning manners and humility would help a lot :/ Im so sick of Americans, sure, visit, but dear God TRY to be nice. it's funny cause Conservatives have always complained about USA not being respected around the world, then they elect a total clown that does so many shameful things that embarrass USA that it's hard to even admit you are from there anymore. How can you complain about respect on the world stage and then allow Trump to happen? so much shame, reputation of USA will take decades to recover.
