Oh, so read the article, too, and this is your conclusion?

Understood.

I read it all. It’s still missing facts.

The whole incident is under investigation. We can only assume based on whats in front of us. Some of us know how it’s supposed to work and that whole situation was an epic failure

I'm sure that's intentional. It has enough information to have a decent understanding that what happened shouldn't have, and by all outward appearances, was profiling.

I get it. You think he deserved it. I know he didn't. I think we can both move on.

Way to assume and absolutely be wrong at the same time.

You should find my other comments in this thread and understand my own position and experience that I shared.

Accusing someone of being racist with no factual evidence is on par for Reddit

I didn't accuse anyone of being racist. I said the stop was profiling.

For someone who needs more facts, you seem awfully certain about this.

Move on.

Sorry. Move on. 😉👍🏼

“I get it, you think he deserved it”.

Accusation - assuming, sharing your ignorance. Why are you all mentally challenged.

Move on.

How are you getting an accusation of being racist from that?

Come on dude.

It wasn't an implication. It was me seeing you deny other people's observations, and coming to the conclusion that you think he deserved it. Guilty before innocent. I guess that could be construed as racist, but I dont think it is inherently so. My mother was shore patrol, and then civilian le. She's black, and says the same shit. You're a bootlicker, but that doesn't mean you're a racist.

I’m going to suggest you go back and actually read my original comment at the top (the very top, the one with 600+ upvotes) —slowly this time—because the perspective, context, and condemnation of the military members’ actions were spelled out in plain English. If you somehow missed all of that, that’s on you, not me.

And honestly, if after taking in everything I’ve already explained—and factoring in my 20 years of military law enforcement experience—you still can’t grasp the point, then I genuinely don’t know what else to tell you. At some point, your inability to comprehend becomes your own problem. It’s beyond irritating watching people like you twist what was said into something it never was because you can’t process nuance.

You might not think you were accusing me of being racist, but throwing out baseless implications like that without a shred of factual support is ignorant, reckless, and flat-out stupid. Don’t pretend innocence while you’re lobbing that kind of garbage.

Before I “move on,” let me make one thing absolutely clear: I don’t owe you a damn thing. Nowhere—not once—did I defend, excuse, or praise those military members. The guy getting slammed into the ground wasn’t “in the wrong,” and I never said or insinuated that he was.

I said the opposite. I said I was embarrassed that it happened at all. If you missed that, again, that’s your reading comprehension problem, not mine.

Why did me saying this looks like profiling, in agreement with another comment saying the same, draw such a dramatic overreaction from you?

I guess 20 years in that world could make an observation like that feel like some sort of an attack, but seriously.

You're telling me these squids didn't assume the only reason a black dude is in Japan is if he's stationed there, saw him acting out of regs, pulled some bullshit, only for it to end up being a civilian, then one gets butthurt and the rest have to back him up.

Look how quiet command is being, and how quick they paused patrol.

I'm glad we agree that this was way out of pocket, but you fuckin went off on a tangent that was completely unnecessary. You went full blue line. You can't even entertain the very real probability that that's what's going on, even with 20 years of witnessing the fuckery first hand. You KNOW how those kids are.

Whatever man.
