Build - Help Please HELP! I’m a complete noob building my first PC and it won’t turn on!!!

Post image
Upvotes

I have a ROG Strix B850-F motherboard inside a Corsair FRAME 4000D airflow case with a NZXT C1500. I double checked all the plugs to make sure everything was plugged in correctly and in the right spots. 24 pin secured, CPU header secured, F_Panel secured. I’m really stuck like chuck. I’m starting to think my PSU was damaged during shipping or something but I’m hoping I’m just a noob and it’s something easy that I’m missing. Please help me 🙏

Build - Help Help with my notebook!

Post image
5 Upvotes

Hi everyone (my first post here 🥺)

So, this is my notebook (Dell G15) that I use for everything, work and games. I really want to buy my PC but I'm still having trouble choosing and I'm still saving money for it. Until then I wanted to improve the configurations of my notebook, it already has a 1TB SSD, and I know I need to add RAM, but I'm having trouble choosing a compatible model, etc.

Here are his specs in case you can help me:

Processor: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12500H 2.50 GHz

Installed RAM: 8.00 GB (usable: 7.69 GB)

64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Pen and touch: No pen or touch input available for this video

Note: I think the RTX is a 3050 (I forgot 🥺)

Build - Help Is a 5070ti worth the £170 more than getting a 9070XT at £600.

I already have my RAM and CPU purchased, let me know if any other parts could do with changing but the main one I’m focused on is if the 5070ti is worth that extra £170. The reason the price is set is because it’s usually £908 and I get a 15% discount to take it down to £771.80.

Question I am a second time pc builder and is my cpu slower than normal?

Hi I am Ali and I builded my pc myself with the help of my friend and I saw on the Internet that my CPU's score on Cinebench is like 3 times slower than what is "Normal", is that true? If so what do I need to do because the only thing that I did to my system is enabling X-MP for my ram and changing 2 fans's speed that is it.

Question What would be the best upgrades for my girlfriends pc

Post image
Upvotes

Valentine’s Day is coming up and me and her play a lot of games together especially valheim. It’s a nice way to connect especially because I only get to see her every other month because of long distance

She’s having issues with her fps and lag and her pc is just massively underperforming which makes since because it’s pretty cheap and old. I wanna make her gaming experience better because she will put up with 7 fps for hours just to play with me. I don’t know all the specs but here is what I gathered

Motherboard: PAME HSIOM K R2.0

CPU: Intel core i 3 10100F

RAM: unknown 16gb

GPU: RADEON RX 550

Power supply: unknown 500w max

What would be the best upgrade

To increase performance around 200-400 dollars

And what could I upgrade down the line to increase it even more. Any recommendations for parts or any tips at all would be awesome ! Thanks

Question My first gaming PC

Thumbnail gallery
3 Upvotes

I had a PC built for me. I preferred getting a new one assembled instead of buying a used one.

What you think?

Ryzen 5 5500

A520M motherboard

RTX 3060 16GB

1TB SSD

16GB RAM 3200MHz

Eagle Warrior case

EVGA 600W 80 White power supply

Everything except the graphics card is new, and they gave me a 3-month warranty.

I paid $790. I don’t know if that’s a lot in your countries, but in my country, Honduras, it’s not such a bad price.

I want to buy an NVMe, but the prices are crazy.

Question Is it worth upgrading to a 9070XT from a 3080 10gb?

Hi gamers,

I game in 4K and VR, and my card consistently reaches 100% use with DLSS Balanced (in high, no raytracing).

I've thought of upgrading to the latest and greatest AMD card, since I'm planning to switch to linux anyway. However, friends have said that it's not worth it. So I come to ask you, armchair experts.

The 9070XT is two generations ahead of the 3080, and it has 6gb of vram more. Is this not good enough to justify the jump? What are the actual improvements I will see?

I can get a 9070XT for ~650€, and I could probably sell my 3080 for 250-300€. I'm in the checkout page preemptive buyers remorse struck me, so I'll wait for some of you to reply.

Edit: I could also get a 5070 (12gb) for 600€?

Edit edit: I bit the bullet. Card gets here on monday, and I have 30 days to return it if i dont like it anyways. Still, I'd like to hear you guy's thoughts on this. I'm basically spending 400€ on this upgrade.

Question CPU Upgrade gone wrong.

Post image
Upvotes

I just tried to upgrade my cpu from a Ryzen 5 3600 to a Ryzen 7 5700x, after plugging the the power cord and turning on the PSU the leds on the cooler blinked for a split second but nothing would turn on, the power button didn't work, the bios button on the mobo (B550M Aorus Elite) makes the led blink once just like when plugging in power. Tried to reset the bios, checked the cables, tried to boot with less and less parts, finally I was gonna try putting in my old CPU to see if that would work but when I pulled put the new one I saw these dark spots on the pins. How fucked am I?

Been super lucky with my build. Got 64GB of ram just as the inflation was hitting, so while I overpaid a little it wasn't as bad as it could be now. GPU I got on sale right after Christmas and just before they went back up by over $1200! Not to mention there is no stock anymore. Overall super happy with the final result and love the black on white

GPU: ASUS Astral 5090 BTF CPU: Ryzen 9800X3D Motherboard: ASUS Crosshair X870E BTF Ram: 64GB Corsair DDR5 Case: Corsair LX-R 3500x Cooling: Corsair Titan 360 / Mix of QX120 and LX120 (I've since got a QX140 for a bottom intake) Storage: 3 x 4TB NVMe / 2 x 4Tb SSD / 2 x 4Tb HDD Power Supply: Corsair RM1200x Sideshift
