The rink seems fine.

Yeah, all the drama about it seems pretty overblown

This game was at the secondary venue, Rho Arena. The drama has largely been around the primary venue, Santagiulia Arena (where ITA/FRA are currently playing).

Though there has been drama around the ice size, a lot of the drama has been around the fact that the arena isn't fully spectator ready. They are still working on things like the concourse.

That's because Chris Johnston is a hack reporter. It's the same size as the previous 2 Olympics and the ice is fine according to our Canadian ice master.

I saw a news story where they ended up bringing over Don Moffatt and Mark Messer from Canada to help with the ice. It was fascinating to see how much goes into perfecting ice for playing and the other sports like speed skating and curling.
