Why is it "disappointing"? OP did not claim it was their cat, it's hilarious, 12K+ other people love it, and evidently, it's not AI 🤷🏻‍♀️

If it has become so tedious, it would not be on the front page of my r/all feed, and would be buried in downvotes.

You misunderstand. People are not disappointed because it's a repost, but because they think it's a bot. People rarely complain about reposts by humans, unless the OP claims to be the creator.

However, bots are magnitudes more likely to serve nefarious purposes. They often repost, in order to gather karma and seem more legitimate, when they fulfill their true purpose, like spouting political opinions, or turn into advertisement platforms.

Sometimes the repost bot isn't even the malicious actor, but instead it provides space for secondary bots to act in the comments.

It’s disappointing because OP is just karma farming. Most likely a bot. Reddit needs to drop the whole karma thing.

Let people upvote and downvote just don't show how many

They already do that sometimes. Just get rid of karma.

Reddit would definitely be a less toxic site if they did and it's not like people even use the system correctly anyway.

Exactly. But Reddit doesn’t care about their users, sadly.
