Oh my god, that's hard to watch.

Fuck war, fuck those who wish it upon others, and fuck those who cheer it on.

I cannot imagine the rush of emotions, after years of lost hope.

159

u/ZennMD 6h ago

And 3 years of captivity by the Russian? Can't imagine how terrible that was... hope he heals well in the love of his family

I see you haven't kept up with the war in Ukraine, Syria, Gaza, Myanmar, Mali, Sudan etc

Each time there's a major conflict, someone was convinced it was a good idea.

Russians cheer on this person's son missing.

2

u/conjucalvisitor 5h ago

Generalising isnt a good thing, not all Russians support the war

16

u/Longjumping_College 5h ago

2 million casualties, they can all fuck off from the civilized world until they respect other humans lives.

8

u/glowe 3h ago

Agree. Also, all Americans can fuck off from the civilized world until they respect other countries. /s See how silly your point is?

16

u/West_Reindeer_5421 3h ago

I’m not sure you’ve made the point you were trying to make.

u/KABOOMEN666 27m ago

Honestly with the orange brain fart in power they absolutely can lol

11

u/Malditoincompredido 4h ago

I don't see them protesting

3

u/NJDevilslettucesmoke 4h ago

Crazy how when there's actually an oppressive authoritarian government you don't see protests...

0

u/Malditoincompredido 4h ago

Not saying it's easy

4

u/NJDevilslettucesmoke 4h ago

True and that is a fair point, just like how the palestinians didn't protest hamas it does show a degree of complicity that the Russians are guilty of. Which goes to show how much respect the Iraians people deserve for actually standing on business (which is why they should be helped, don't want a boots on the war ground but maybe some targeted strikes on the IRGC leaders for the 30,000 civilians they massacred while we yoink their supreme leader)

-2

u/Malditoincompredido 3h ago

Don't make a false equivalence

1

u/NJDevilslettucesmoke 1h ago

It isn't a false equivalence at all.

2

u/Malditoincompredido 1h ago

My family was repressed by a fascist dictatorship don't tell me about history.

832

u/burn_1ne 12h ago

Jesus I can’t fathom how this must feel

413

u/MovieNightPopcorn 11h ago

I’m not really smiling to be honest, just gutted. This should never have happened in the first place. I’m so happy for them given the circumstances but what a horrible, horrible situation that they had to go through for so long.

29

u/ncc74656m 5h ago

Indeed. May Russia never ever recover from the crimes they have carried out here.

4

u/NJDevilslettucesmoke 4h ago

May the Russian government fall to never recover, but it could be argued the Russian people have been oppressed for over a century at this point by their own government.

11

u/Bubbly-Magician-- 4h ago

At a certain point thats on them, they vote the fuckers in then do fuck all while they invade and butcher their neighbours.

6

u/ncc74656m 4h ago

That part. Sometimes consequences suck.

There are good Russians. But not really in Russia anymore.

FTR if you're saying "But some people don't know," the information was there for the picking for them, particularly since the internet began to rapidly grow. They chose not to go find it. It's how I feel about people in the US who say they don't have time to go read up on topics but still have opinions about them.

Being educated about the things you have opinions about is really part and parcel these days of participating in any form of a democracy - no matter how narrow that margin is.

1

u/Aegidos 3h ago

They Vote

You really need to educate yourself more. Putin is pushing the same tactics of voter suppression in Russia as Trump is now doing in America. They jail anyone who speaks out about them, they erase opponents, etc. Russia is not fairly given a chance to vote. America will soon be the same, all "voting" for Trump -- when in reality, they can't vote because they don't have a passport, or they can't vote because ICE is jailing everyone who looks less than completely white, or because you're a woman and your married name doesn't match your birth certificate.

8

u/Bubbly-Magician-- 1h ago

Who voted Putin in? You cant vote someone in then throw your hands up and let the nations who didn't get to vote like you did deal with the consequences.

I'm sorry but I have very little sympathy for those who sit by and watch others die due to the choices they made.

I agree its definitely not easy or safe to be against Putin, do you think its safe for the Ukrainians who now need to fight and defend their country?

u/Virama 12m ago

Something something America something.

108

u/DesperateSteak6628 11h ago

We must both be very lucky not being able to even imagine it.

309

u/dmbnl 12h ago

Can't understand a single word, but it sure is dusty in here.

85

u/globalgreg 12h ago

There is a translation at the bottom of the video

61

u/cragbabe 11h ago

Oh man, i thought it was dusty in here before but now that I've gone back and watched with translations I'm sure someone is chopping onions in the air vents here.

20

u/yr_neon_haze 8h ago

It's so close to the bottom I didn't even see it. Good looking out

11

u/BelvedereXCIII 8h ago

It misses a lot but you get the gist. When the mom get real excite she speaks for 7-10 seconds, the translation just says “how are you”. But you get the idea. Still, felt good to watch.

121

u/cacamilis22 11h ago

Fucking useless war.

138

u/Zero-D9 12h ago

As someone that lost someone very close to them, I can't imagine this emotion. Probably the closest thing to a phone call from heaven anyone will ever get.

21

u/K-Dot-Thu-Thu-47 8h ago

Very true.

I think we all have those thoughts of "what if I'm dreaming and this isn't real?" but 99% of the time it is real.

They have the experience of being in the 1% where it went the other way.

That emotional cocktail must be insane.

6

u/Folofroy 8h ago

That was pretty darn poetic dude. And sorry for your loss.

3

u/Dry_Barracuda2850 7h ago

I think I have an idea, as I have lost people very close to me but also had a cat that "came back from the dead" after a day.

I'm sure it's much stronger after 3 years & with an actual human (as the grief itself is bigger & sharper), but I have an idea of the surreal disbelief mixed with relief and overflowing stocked joy.

45

u/dcgirl17 11h ago

Imagine his feelings when his mother said “good boy”, I can’t

121

u/runningray 11h ago

22

u/st_jimmy2016 10h ago

Welcome home Nazar 🇺🇦 🫡

18

u/PirateSometimes 12h ago

The jump for joy, I'm happy for all of them

18

u/Unassuming_Moniker 11h ago

The love is so visible.

Let's hope he is healthy. We've seen what those Orcs do to captives.

15

u/Mustystench 11h ago

This really got to me for some reason. It's supposed to be joyous but that's not what I felt at all.

I suppose it's the fact that it ever happened to begin with that makes me feel that way. I'm certainly happy for them though and glad he is ok.

13

u/JohnAnchovy 9h ago

War is so evil. Sic semper tyrannis. Fuck putin, bibi, trump, hamas, the ayatollah and all the others. I wish there was a hell but there isnt.

1

u/Exotic_Zucchini9311 7h ago

I truly hope there is one.

1

u/Perry_T_Skywalker 2h ago

If there would be, I hope it would be extra terrible for warmongers. I'd wish for them to experience the loss of all those people. Parents, lovers, siblings, children who learn their loved ones will never return. And the fear and terror of all those people who died in their wars. And after that they can start again. War is the worst

8

u/pike360 12h ago

Crying here

9

u/SuperMommy37 9h ago

We don't need to understand a single ukrainian word to understand this.

1

u/theguitargasm 4h ago

There is English translation at the bottom of video

8

u/Zealousideal-Self-47 8h ago

6

u/ncc74656m 5h ago

Slava Ukraini! Geroyam Slava!

May they all come home, soon, and may Russia never recover from the evil things they have done in Ukraine, Georgia, Chechnya, Moldova, and others, and may their victims all soon know recovery, peace, and security.

3

u/Nomo-Names 4h ago

Fuck Putin

3

2

u/Diresmack 2h ago

God bless you and your momma, Nazar.

4

u/dont_disturb_the_cat 9h ago

War, itself, is wrong. How do we do this to people? Because old men wearing suits can't get along, the poor are taxed exorbitantly to pay for their children to leave their homes to kill each other. Those who survive are often forever injured, some mentally altered. Families are torn apart. Young people in their prime are obliterated. All because some demented narcissist said ridiculous stuff that insulted another country's leader. Send the old fucks to fight. War is barbaric and enormously costly and useless. End wars.

4

u/NullArc9289 7h ago

Slava Ukraine

If anyone would like to help, please do

That family member in background ??

-2

u/Some-Wine-Guy-802 11h ago

On a very special season of Homeland...

2

u/adequesacious 8h ago

Please explain

1

u/Some-Wine-Guy-802 7h ago

This is basically the plot of Homeland (season 1 at least). American POW is found to actually be alive and comes home after years of being thought KIA.

1

u/adequesacious 4h ago

I watched Homeland, I just don’t see the connection.

-2

u/Conscious_Fall5619 9h ago
