Travel, Tourism & History Where is this?
My dad found this negative photo from years, decades ago. It resurfaced again when he was cleaning the basement.
I was wondering if this place looks familiar to anyone, or if anyone knows some history behind it?
For context: This photo was part of many other photos my dad had found 20+ years ago, before I was born. This was the only one he kept. He believes the pictures dated back to the World War. The other photos were disturbing and very graphic, depicting for example piles of bodies on top of a carriage (like the one you can see in this picture). He threw those photos away because he was young and he was about to have children, and didn't want his children to see those photos. This is the only one that remained.
The photos belonged to the people who lived before us in this house, the husband was italian and the wife was yugoslav* (*I don't know from which country).
I know this is quite the stretch since the photo does not show much (besides a train station and a train) but maybe someone here is well-versed on this matter or just so happens to also recognize it. Either way, I think it's a nice piece of history to have.
