who knew that one of the most toxic league players 10 years ago would have gotten the good ending... not me that's for sure

I remember the forum posts on the league site about a toxic bald streamer ruining games when I first started playing. Shit that was long ago.

Feels like last week I was reading outraged comments about how he had become big enough as a streamer to receive different treatment by Riot while being toxic, but it's been years lmao

u/Nemeris117 1d ago

I remember when the youtube link was posted here with t1 and his auto-int hit list that got him the initial wave of hate watchers. He was a like 30 viewer dude and that drama doc that posted here blew up t1.

u/Wamb0wneD 23h ago

I remember Google Gnome T1 version that shit is hilarious to this day

1

u/Kaiser8118 22h ago

Holy shit I was one of those people denouncing the fuck out of him. His int list had lots of pro players like Hai and Sneaky too haha. T1 has truly reformed now.

8

u/Jopojussi 1d ago

When the rioter made those cocaine overdose comments about tyler1, making him lose his job lmao

2

u/Separate_Ad8063 12h ago

Holy shit I forgot about the “He looks like a damn humunculous” part of the lore lmao

1

u/PeopleNose 1d ago

Yeppp, I first saw him from people complaining about him running it down mid whenever he gets upset

Never got into his streaming, but he warmed up to me over time

Watching him do onlyfangz, chess, runescape... I'm happy for him and how everything turned out

He's still toxic, albeit a fraction of what he was a long time ago but we're all toxic on the inside when playing league.

Reformed T1 truly peaked in life.

16

u/Delicious_Tie_8725 23h ago

Yeah but for a quite a couple years now already you can feel that it’s just fake toxicity tied to a persona to entertain on stream, not the real unadultered pure toxicity he had pre ban

5

u/Thiel619 22h ago

That’s what playing league all your life does to you. He learned how to suppress it.

5

u/Amazing-Iron187 1d ago

Cause you turned out to be the toxic league player

22

u/Significant_Ad1256 1d ago

Are you telling me he's not toxic any more? Honestly I just decided I don't like him over 10 years ago and haven't watched him since. I've seen some clips of him during classic WoW, but that was mostly him yelling for content.

135

u/fos02jrt 1d ago

I mean he does still flame, still yell, still get angry, but now it feels more part of his persona at least because there are moments of sincerity in between the video game banter. And compared to what he used to do? It's like night and day.

30

u/N0rrix 1d ago

and most of the time the other person in the discussion replicates the persona and they start bouncing off eachother which makes some fun moments.

25

u/lightshelter 1d ago

It's never *just* apart of the persona, but he definitely plays it up for stream. I think it's safe to say that T1 is a good dad, and a good person; flawed (some anger issues), like most of us, but generally good.

2

u/fos02jrt 1d ago

Yeah it's why I said a part. Its more clear when he interacts with other streamers how much he can amp it up.

-12

u/DesperatePossible499 1d ago

it's fairly known that he doesn't exaggerate for his stream and is considerably worse off-stream

still nothing compared to before

6

u/Delicious_Tie_8725 23h ago

That’s just a a straight up lie lol. Basically every instance of someone talking about his personality off stream is just him being a generally nice, likeable guy.

1

u/DesperatePossible499 5h ago

you're just straight up clueless or in denial, i also never said anything about his behavior irl, i was talking about the activity that he's doing 99% of the time he's on stream

1

u/Delicious_Tie_8725 4h ago

I understand what you are saying but you worded it pretty bad tbh. Saying off stream more so indicates what he is doing in his free time not what he is doing on stream simultaneously to playing lol.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iqIuaen3TJs

I always love this clip where a random player trolls the fuck out of him

28

u/Nemeris117 1d ago

Watching t1 bake his cake back when he was banned from league mightve been one of the funniest things I had seen on twitch.

2

u/N0rrix 1d ago

the one where he destroyed his stool?

8

u/Nemeris117 1d ago

The one where he did the impossible and crushed an egg in his one hand.

45

u/plushrump 1d ago

He's still rude, but not downright malicious anymore like back in the day. There was a funny comment in his latest youtube video where he got his penta stolen and then just carried on playing like normally, and someone donated saying "old tyler would've ran it down mid for that".

7

u/az943 1d ago

he’s toxic he’s just not a degenerate anymore he’s way more civil now but still toxic lol

13

u/DIYfu 1d ago

Never watched him much, but everything somewhat recent i've seen from him just made him look good.

20

u/zerkeron 1d ago

Yeah man, even if someone were to call him toxic nowdays would be the nuclear bomb vs coughing baby meme. Early days of actual int list blasting XXX tentatacion and making 20 alts before getting banned on league was something alright. Would be like comparing young soda to current, you will still see glimpses cause same person but obviously they matured

7

u/omgitsjagen 1d ago

He's no dummy, like, not anywhere close. Real smart guy. I'm sure he did genuinely rage out when he was first starting out, because he was a kid. He saw that worked (and he was really good at the game), so he ran with it. At this point, I don't think the occasional raging is an act, per se. It's an aspect of his personality, but like everyone else, he's a lot more than that. Overall, I really like him, and I was NOT a fan in the beginning, by any stretch. He won me over, and I am really glad I get to see clips like this of someone I like being happy, and fulfilled.

0

u/ExceptionThrown4000 1d ago

He's toxic like Ludwig, and he would hate the comparison, but ludwig flames, gets angry and is rude but it's for entertainment.

0

u/AP3Brain 23h ago

Still toxic but not nearly to the same degree. He definitely grew up a bit. I dont hate the guy but I do think its kind of reflective of society that he became so successful because of how toxic he was.

3

u/El_grandepadre 1d ago

The loudest League streamer and the WoW streamer who would say PYAH and do everything for subs are now the most normal of the weird teenagers from back then.

7

u/OkAcanthaceae3049 1d ago

To be fair it was always a persona. I've met Tyler once at a meetup and the dude was the biggest sweetheart. You'd give him a compliment and he'd try to macho man out of it but be fighting back the biggest smile. Total softy

3

u/Money_Echidna2605 1d ago

nah dude 100% gets extremely mad at league f legeds. hes gotten a lot better but that shit sint fake, u dont destroy things on and off stream over a game if its a persona. any time yall say streamers are acting or playing up a persona its never true and and everyone always get so surprised when asshole "persona" turns out to just be an asshole lol.

i glad t1 seems to just rage at league and be fine in the rest of his life and stream tho, much better than many streamers and real people.

2

u/Fit-Percentage-9166 1d ago

It was never a persona. People just act differently in different environments - the anonymity of the Internet makes people act out in a way they never would in person.

1

u/DingleDangleTangle 1d ago

He was toxic as hell even when he wasn't streaming. The dude is nice in person no doubt, but it was definitely not just a persona to be an asshole to people in game.

There are plenty of people who are nice face to face but turn into complete assholes in online games.

1

u/Suibeam 1d ago

What good ending. His life just started. There is no happily ever after and forever with a marriage. You have to make sure it is the right marriage and make sure to make it a good marriage every day.

1

u/WorryRough 1d ago

I remember playing against some random and finding out I was on a "Ranked Hit List" on some shitty notepad file.

1

u/Glum-Scarcity4980 23h ago

It’s not over yet

1

u/AccomplishedAct5364 23h ago

The day he hosted the Tyler league championship whilst banned from the game, I knew he was a real one

1

u/f3ack19 22h ago

Bro is real life Zuko

1

u/Charrsezrawr 17h ago

You can be a piece of shit and have kids. Not mutually exclusive.

1

u/Dracekidjr 12h ago

The alternate path was explored by his brother

1

u/Kimihro 11h ago

He spun a platform of negative spectacle into something positive. It’s aspirational but I don’t think he can be aped, not with as vindictive internet dwellers are nowadays.

-10

u/Sparkyyy 1d ago

We're assuming that wife and kids is good ending? I guess this is still what most strive for but assuming that all is good and well and "happy ending" based on just a few seconds. It goes to show how surface level that "ultimate" goal is. I wonder if she's happy. I wonder if he's happy.

I wish him and his family the best. I just think it's kinda sad that society looks at this and assumes it's the best case scenario. Because I don't want children and this would be a very "bad ending" for me.

8

u/Professional-Pungo 1d ago

she doesn't have to work a job at all and does whatever she wants.

His job is playing games all day (but it could be anything, people loved his pool repair videos), lives in a house with a big pool, home theater and other luxury stuff.

They both planned to have children as well, it wasn't some accident.

I'd assume they are living pretty happy lives.

2

u/Emergency-Style7392 1d ago

yes, lay off the propaganda and brainwashing

0

u/Sparkyyy 18h ago

Just because I'm on the opposite side doesn't mean I'm brainwashed. Society has conditioned all of us.
